- Dawn M Smith Zip-locks are SO my downfall too! My recycling receptor is twice the size of my trashcan... but ziplocks! When you try to pack food in appropriate portions, ziplocks take so much less room in the fridge! I was thankful for the re-usable version that was shown. I told all my friends about it!

- Terry Essence You know I did that since last year, not all the time and first time My Mom saw me do it she thought I was nuts, we can't be that poor. Though it does save on money. And it's not like it smells. Anyway, we gotta do something with time, energy, preserve, and get on our goals to lead a healthy life style. - Beth Terry Oh, and I agree and disagree with Victoria Mullahey's comment above. It takes a lot more water to manufacture disposable singe-use containers. But we also need to reduce our consumption in the first place so there are fewer things to wash out.

- June Mattiza On search I found a co. named, Mirel that makes Bioplastics, (surgar based) maybe a Oprah shout out to ziploc etc to manu it "zips" out of this will get them using this instead. (or similar product) http://www.metabolix.com/

- Lauren Sullivan I'm really scared for the environment. Especially the oceans. The ocean environment is so sensitive that it's insane...from chemical and other pollutants to noise pollution to temperature changes and salinity changes due to the melting of the polar ice caps and over fishing...It's really worrisome.

- Kim Burns I've been washing and re-using my zip-lock bags for a few years now. But I sometimes wonder if it's good to do so, because water is becoming a more and more precious resource. It takes a lot of water to wash these bags. What's worse?: a) using lots of water to wash these bags or b) throwing them away?

- Joanne Pall It's great that you're taking the time to reuse your plastics, but a note on this. All plastics are not for reuse and you can actually harm your body by doing so. Plastics release toxins into your system as they begin to degrade; this can lead to some very serious health problems. The only way to know if this is safe is to check the recyle type number found on the product (box) or check with the mfg direct.

If you talk to him he would howl/growl in response. Also love the room dedicated to your dog that passed away. Better than some hotels!
