Virg Bernero Mayor Bernero participated in a tour of the new national headquarters for the Accident Fund Insurance Company of America on November 23, 2009. The building (previously known as the Ottawa Street Power Station) is scheduled to be open in 2011 after being vacant for many years.

Thousands of Lansing residents gathered Downtown for the Lansing Principal Shopping District's Trick-or-Treat on the Square on Wednesday, October 28th. Activities included a Magic Show, a Hay Maze, Trick-or-Treating, Slime Making with Impression Science Center, Nocturnal Animal Behaviors with Potter Park Zoo, an eating contest, and High 5 Stilt Guys.
