Stephen Kucharski Can someone tell me how common is the ETM problem on an S70 (2000). I understand this became such an issue Volvo guaranteed them until 132,000 miles. Does that include the original one installed in the car? Was there ever a recall on this part. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I had my 1999 c70 back to dealer with ETM problems, car ran perfectly for a few months then developed idling problems again ... I cleaned the throttle body with carb cleaner and it's been running sweetly since

i dont think there was a formal recall but problems with it are very common. it went out on me a couple of times (1999 s70) - i think the first time they did a software upgrade - and when it went out again around 180,000 i was told they are covering it until 200,000 miles. they fixed it. you should definitely check with your local dealer.
