As per email from FCI - PBS will put the 26 episodes showing this year up for streaming on PBS web site "at the beginning of the New Year (we do not have a specific date yet)." When asked if they have plans for any other distribution, they said "We are focusing on the 26 episodes at the moment." A start for those without any MRN

this statue is dedicated, not to mr rogers, but "to children."

Hi -- Kevin from PBS here. We thought you might like to know that we've just announced a Mister Rogers iPhone/iPod touch app, called "Mister Rogers' Make a Journal." You can learn more about it at http://pbskids.org/mobile/

Mr. rogers should be on T.V. to teach the little children all the manners and education he has giving through the years.

Yes it looks like we have lost the daily broadcasts of our beloved Mister Rogers. TV stinks for kids these days and it's a wonder why their morals and values have gone down the toilet. This is a very sad day for PBS. Not very many good shows left on this channel. There is a local show on our PBS station WQED that I like but that seems as if it will be cut due to funding as well.

Hi everyone. I posted this in the "links" below, but wanted to ensure it got exposure for those (like me) who rarely scroll all the way down...

A friend, Benjamin Wagner, is making a documentary about Fred and needs a little help funding the project. He's accepting online donations (with some neat incentives) at the crowdfunding site Kickstarter.com...

Wow! This group is great. Many years ago, Mr. Rogers visited Children's Memorial Hospital (where I work) and my co-worker had the once-in-a-lifetime chance of interviewing him. It's really quite special.

Thanks for starting this group! My boys NEED Mr. Rogers in their lives every day, the same way I did when I was a kid. He treats other people the way they should be treated on his show. . .it is a great example for everyone to see.

Mister Rogers' Neighborhood had a huge impact on my life as a child and it continues into my adulthood. It would be such a shame for his programs to go off the air.

Here's a podcast where they pay homage to Fred. It was really nice to hear people who have done their homework! http://www.tankriot.com/2009/067/

If you need help getting started with a podcast, let me know. I'd be happy to donate so you can get a libsyn account to get it going. I have a podcast and all you need is a microphone and some software like the free Audacity. Or if you can record it and send it to me, I'd be happy to edit and upload it. You can request the sound bytes from Family Communications. Perhaps you can move into a video podcast if they will start releasing some of the (even really old) shows they have moved to digital media.

Have you considered creating a podcast? I see there are Jim Henson fan podcasts. I'm sure this would be easy and fun! You could interview all the people who were involved with the making of the show. Could get some light on why his shows should stick around.

Both the KC and Topeka stations cut Mister Rogers several years ago. I used to watch it at 5 am when I was working, and at 3 pm when I wasn't. Now it's not available.
Fred Rogers testified before Congress in the late '60s in order to get funding for public television, which makes this extremely disgraceful on their part. Some young idiot who doesn't know his history 86'd the man responsible for his job! BOO PBS!
