I have driven my Prius for 50,00kms now and get 4.5liter/100km combined (mainly freeway driving). The main problem is the low ground clearance you can scrap ur driveway easily.

Bei der deutschen Spritsparmeisterschaft (Toyota in Dieburg) bin ich den Prius gerade mit 3,1 l/100km gefahren (Stadt und Landstraße) - wirklich ein tolles Automobil.

Just I've driven the PRIUS with only 3,1 l/100km - really a superb car!

Does anyone know of a low key hybrid club on the Central Coast of CA?

My 60,000 mile 2006 Prius is in surgery, receiving a new hybrid system - battery and computers. All is under warranty, but what happened?! They said a battery cell died. Any geeks out there know how on earth this could have happened? I'm bummed! I love my car! Parts are so scarce that it will take 4 days to get in. Upside 2009 Prius rental is nice.

I left mine in Drive and hopped out to throw a letter in the mail box. The emergency brake was on, thankfully.

Jennea, I'm in Iowa, and this past winter, it was bitterly cold, with lots of snow. It was my first winter with the Pirus, and it handled well. My mpg's did take a huge hit when it was cold. However, we take mostly short trips, so it never warmed up well enough to perform 100%.

how well does the prius fair in -40 canadian winters? will the batterys survive? handling? im a new and proud owner of a happy blue one.

I just had my 75,000 mile work done on my '06 Prius. The original front brakes are still at 90% and the original back brakes are at 80%. Not having regular brake jobs is one more added cost savings to the greatest vehicle on the road!

We recently purchased a Navigation Sun Visor. We love it. It looks great, and really helps. I'll try to get pictures up, so you can see how well it looks. Check it out. Here is where I bought it. I don't think I paid any shipping. I know, $38 for a piece of plastic seems high, but I'm really glad I bought it. http://www.priusaccessory.com/Navigation-Sun-Visor-s/114.htm

Have had our '08 Prius for almost a year, and are taking our first big roadtrip this weekend! 1,300 miles, cruising from Iowa to Florida. Can't wait!

I just got my 2007 Prius with a plug-in conversion from EngineR of Auburn Hills, Michigan. I have the 2 kWh version and will be upgrading to the 4 kWh version soon. I am supposed to get up to 100 mpg.

Richard, I will let you know how the solar roof works. Unfortunately it's been like Jul-tober in Chicago, so I might have to wait for it to feel like summer first. At least my spot on the wait list came up before November (they told me 6 months when I put my name on the list at the end of April), so there's still a chance I'll get to use it. I already love the moon roof and the backup camera :-)
