Unfortunately, "more important" is a very subjective thing. Goverments must always perform a juggling act of what they (or their constituents) think is important and fund accordingly. But as an "ordinary Canadian" whose main source of income is from the arts, I found the recent cuts and Stephen Harper's comments towards the arts disturbing to say the least. As for funding education, I'd be all for it if they would fund arts education as studies have shown that young people who are exposed to the arts/participate in the arts show a marked increase in IQ scores.

ok i do think this group does have a vald point, but what if the funding taken from the arts and other such things goes to more important things like, health care or education?
