Anyone knows what happened of the Trees reunion of a year or so ago? They really reformed and played with all member (including Celia and Barry) or they did only a web page promotion? Never heard about..

I've changed the working title of my book! Hope you all approve. I thought this would be more evocative, plus I wanted to broaden the subtitle to reflect the many hues of folk music I would be covering.

Just wanted to say on here how sorry I am to hear of the passing of Jack Rose. I appreciate that many of you in this group will have known him, many more will have admired his amazing talent. My thoughts are with his friends and family. Truly sad news. RIP Jack Rose.

Great group for a type of music that seems to be overlooked far to often. Also i was wondering about these what other artists are going to be included, particularly one of my favorite groups, Moonkyte. Looking forward to the book and thank you for taking the time to write it.

Awesome, can't wait for the book! Probably wouldn't've joined the group if you hadn't listed Comus first, incidentally-- good call! Don't forget the mighty Deutsche contingent: Bröselmaschine, Emtidi, u.s.w.....

Oh yes! The Finnish scene is fascinating. In one of the last two chapters I'll be devoting some space to it.

Nice! I wished for a book on that exact topic, and got served... Looking forward to reading it. In the meantime, any good book references on the same subject to start with?

Thanks everybody for so many of your kind comments on the wall and in messages. I'll be sending out another update soon that will include news of meeting the legends Clive Palmer and Shirley Collins! Still some more very interesting interviews to come too....

The book is going really well and I'm so looking forward to spending my winter with a pile of interviews, research and acid folk albums - emerging, cheeks flushed with too much coffee and ears ringing with dulcimers, with a finished manuscript as spring is dawning.

Excellent stuff here folks!

Check out a great Toronto band when you've the chance... Saffron Sect!
Fairporty-Pentangly-rockin' psyche, with lots of interesting "early music" going on. Great live show!

Have a look on myspace

Good project, just don't forget about all those nice crazy people of the first wave of the new acoustic music, like Miro', Pooka, Pat Orchard and the likes. Please write me if you'd need help with these ;-)

Hi there,

A wee favour to get some local people volunteering for a local charity festival.

Festinho, a cracking little chilled Festival in sunny Suffolk is looking for Steward Volunteers aged 18 to 25.

It's runs 4/5/6th Sept at Kentwell Hall and if you volunteer, you get in for free for the weekend!

Just email Charlie for more details: charlotteemilymoore@btinternet.com

So many good bands and DJs playing, Owl Service, Nancy Wallace, Penguin Cafe Orchestra, Jon Hopkins, Leisure Society, Pete Lawrence, Lol Hammond, Mixmaster Morris, Spiro, Maukin Causley, Sam and the Plants, Dollboy, plus loads of mad electronic madness and us (The Garden DJs) flying the freak flag high.

Gone on, volunteer, it'll be a blast. Big love from The Garden and Festinho.

Thanks x
