Two pre-Halloween treats have been announced for the popular Warren Haynes Christmas Jam — the show is set for Dec. 12 and this year's production will feature an official beer. Christmas Jam White Ale is a wheat beer made by Asheville Brewing, company president Mike Rangel has announced. A seven-barrel test batch has ...already been brewed, and the beer will go on sale Nov. 1 at Asheville Pizza and Brewing, Asheville Brewing, The Orange Peel, Greenlife and Bruisin' Ales, he said. On Nov. 8, the distribution will widen to other accounts. The beer, crafted by Asheville Brewing's Doug Riley, is made in the Belgian wit style with a hint of orange and coriander in the taste. It will be sold in bottles and also on draft. In all, 400 barrels will be sold. The beer takes about three weeks to produce. It's already received some rave reviews here and in New York at the Haynes organization. “It's one of the most important beers that we've made,” Rangel said. “We had to make a great beer because this is a great event.” Read More
