Wes Wilson
Wes Wilson, the father of the '60s psychedelic rock poster, gained notoriety for his work while living in California. Now settled on a farm tucked into the rolling hills of southwest Missouri, Wes still enjoys creating and discussing art and ideas.

Well put Mac! Thanks! When it quits snowing here I've got several bonfires that need to burn. I can hardly wait to listen to the cold sky "shimmering" when i do - <g> - ! So far 2010 is going along ok - but maybe just a little too chilly for my dear Eva!

Am glad i paid for Off The Wall issues to be printed in the first place, rather sad to be left out of the Michael Erlewine commentary about its contents and evolution. Oh, well....

How goes it, Wes? Glad to see you still with us. I still miss Rick Griffin coming into my Galley in The Cannery, now closing in on some 19 years ago.

I have the poster Moscoso did for Starbucks way back when. That these new poster artists are finding a market for their art is fantastic. Better by far than Starbucks.

From this great distance, most rock historiography is siloed, as researchers delve deeper and deeper into the details of a specific rock band's history or the minutiae of a certain event. I myself am acutely guilty of profoundly detailed research of little interest even to the participants. ...

Two posters of yours that I have framed are The Wailers with Quicksilver Messenger Service -- and Them with Sons of Champlin. I cherish the art of the 60s. I went to Clover Park High in Tacoma with Rich Dangle and John Greek of The Fabulous Wailers.
