Amy Luallen Just got some Vanilla Derby skates after going to bootcamp for Cincinnati Roller Girls and would like to know anything I can about these skates! Or do I need to return them? HELP! BTW Im very excited for tryouts in January!!!

Different people have different preferences and brand loyalties, but the main thing is to make sure they fit properly and are high quality enough to last a good long time.

Always keep an eye on the penalty box! You don't want to send people out for the next jam if you still have someone in the box. And always call the next lineup right after one goes out, in case it's a short jam--you don't want to have that panic moment when the jam is called and your team doesn't know who's supposed to be going out for the next one... See More yet. It also helps to have an area of the bench (or chairs if that's what you have) where the next line up supposed to sit, so that you can look over and quickly see if your next line up is ready to go (sometimes you'll think someone heard you tell them they're going in next, but they didn't, so having them all move to a certain area will help you know whether everyone who's supposed to go in knows it). Above all, try to stay calm and have fun!
