Whirlpool Building Blocks

We just dedicated house 17 last Sat. The build season is over but the real work is just beginning here in Findlay! New families ot pick and 2 houses to plan for. In June we will be doing 2 side by side. Men and Women build.

Went by the Atlanta site today and it appears all the families are moved in. Some Halloween decorations are up and fires in the fireplaces, smoke curling around the roof (oh, wait we didn't build fireplaces, did we?), anyway, it was wonderful to see and we can all be very proud. Thanks, Whirlpool.

Amen to Cherie's comment. I have landed myself in Chinle, Arizona. This is a very small Native Navajo town. I am working in a pediatric outpatient clinic....and the energy from Atlanta just keeps flowing. No one could come here without being pepped up! I am staying in a hotel. Thanks Whirlpool Building Blocks for keeping me helping people in places... Read More I could never dream of myself being in! I just learned I have to drive 2-3 hrs to a pharmacy. So what....nothing compared to what those great families went through to make thieir dreams of becoming home owners true! Thanks Whirlpool, it takes all of us to keep good things flowing through all the places we can reach!!!

Elaine, I think it's great that you are continuing your work of reaching out to others. For an outsider coming into Chinle, 2-3 hours is quite a drive to a pharmacy, for those living there, it's all they know. You are very brave for taking on this project and I commend you for it! Keep up the great work your doing, I know you are going to make a big difference for the people there! Good luck to you!

Wow...I am so fortunate to have experienced this amazing week and seeing the video made me so proud to have been a part of something so unbelievable and so life changing. I am so thankful to Whirlpool and all of the wonderful volunteers that made dreams come true for 8 wonderful families! I have been truly blessed! I love you all....

Great idea!!!! Nothing like haveing a little bit of recreational time while at work....Ring toss.....that would be fun ! Of course who needs a tool belt when you have a multi-fuctional hat. Door's always open, Herb. Even if it's not, come on in anyway. Your visit -- or Ray's, Jena's or Carolyne's -- could be the respite I need to get me through the rest of the day! Saturday (9/5/09): I'm relaxing after this WONDERFUL build. I just want everyone to know, it was a pleasure to work with such a GREAT group of individuals. I hope that everyone arrived home OK and safe.This build will become one of my fondest memories.
It's was a hard but a wonderful week and seeing these 8 new homes going up for the eight families was a blessing.

I too will take wonderful memories from this build. We did it! We helped 8 deserving families achieve the American Dream! The sky is the limit, you never know what they will do next!

I want to thank everyone for their patience and perserverance, and for pushing when we didn't think we had anything left to give. When you dig down deep, we all had it and it took the help of everyone there to bring out the best in all of us. Thanks, everybody!
