Things are about to get wild for some Sioux Falls area children. Jim Fowler, co-host of the original Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom, along with some of his animal friends, will make several local appearances on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 25 and 26.
Fowler will talk with the students about what they can do to protect the... natural world and the animals that share it with us. An opossum, skunk, hedgehog, ball python, Burmese python, Indian star tortoise, blue tongue skink, bearded dragon, eastern screech owl, macaw and Madagascar hissing cockroaches will help him deliver his message. Fowler’s presentations include:
Friday, Sept. 25
· Liberty Elementary School, located at 200 Willow Street in Harrisburg, from 9-9:45 a.m. and 10-10:45 a.m.
· McCook School, located at 200 East Essex in Salem, from 1-1:45 p.m. and 2-2:45 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 26
· Great Plains Zoo Event Open to the Public. Head to the zoo to enjoy a presentation by Jim Fowler and his animal friends from 1:30-2 p.m. Attendees should also bring their cameras for a chance to get a photo with Jim Fowler and an animal.
