These two words are not mutually exclusive! Though hype surrounding big vintages and the high prices you see at auctions can make it seem like that is the case. But with 57 appellations and over 9,000 wineries, there is a wide range of styles and prices in Bordeaux – something for everyone!

if you go to the wine.com website that have alot of information on wine. Look under wine basics and maybe that can help you get a start in the understanding of wine. Also wine is to each individual's taste palet. You may have to do some experimenting to get the full effect of what you like and how you came about liking the different flavors of wine.

hi Chris,
Are you looking for how a wine retailer selects the wine they are going to sell? Or how the wine consumer selects the wine they plan to drink? Let us know - we may be able to help either way.
