It was a couple of years ago I sent you an e-mail suggesting you and Cramer (of the Jim variety) hook up on his show because he is the only other guy out there that brings your level of enthusiasm every day. I thought the two of you together could reach critical mass and BOOM!. You were on a plane to somewhere, chasing a total eclipse of the sun maybe, but replied, set it up. I didn't, but you did and it was amazing, bordering on too much enthusiam, the Enthusiam Monster almost appeared. Anyway, you are a beacon for the next gen of wine geeks. Way to go!

Joan Grygo Sontag gary...... you know why i love the thunder show? Because I save about 4-5 episodes from I... and that's about 1 hour on the treadmill at the gym... People at the gym think I'm cracy because I'm laughing and/or really intensely listening... but that's how a get through workouts...

Just wanted to say you're the first guy I've seen who I can relate to on wine. I usually feel like the ostracized kid in the grown up world.
Case in point: me the 25 year-old with my dyed hair and flannel shirt walks into a local wine merchant recently, guy asks me to put my bag at the front counter because it's "kind of a policy". I ask about his chardonnay selection and he points me to the Rombauer. I tell him I'm looking for something "nicer", so he then arrogantly points me to Marcassin. I choose Martinelli and tell him I prefer drinking a 89 point wine for $25 to a 95 point wine for $150. I mention I know Helen Turley makes both, and that passionate winemakers like Turley and her brother don't put any less thought into one cellar over another.
Game set and match. Three pointer at the buzzer. Touchdown Jets.
We're changing the wine world one step at a time. Little by little.
