Winnipeg Folk Festival It's time folks! We are studying a new way of selling tickets- bundling camping and festival admission into one ticket (volunteers could still buy camping only). But as we do this, we want to hear from you! What concerns, suggestions, comments do you have about the notion of buying an 'all-in-one' ticket? The more you tell us, the better festival we can build together.

I like the idea of selling the camping passes only with a festival pass, to keep down the scalping, and you must be able to buy ONLY one camping pass per festival pass. But I think the festival should sell the tickets themselves online, instead of using Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster itself encourages scalping through their forwarding to their scalp site, and users typically find ways around to be able to buy up and scalp tickets.

Peter Crossley The Winnipeg Folk Festival provided many weekends of fun and international music. for me and mine in the 1970s, with the best-of-the-best list of folk artists. I am thrilled to see it flourishing. Yes, I will always be a fan of such excellence.

Many within our Winnipeg Folk Festival family may have heard of the loss of a talented young singer-songwriter earlier this week. Taylor Mitchell died after being attacked by coyotes while on tour in Atlantic Canada. Several of our volunteers and audience members got to know Taylor this summer when she was a particip...ant in the Young Performers' Program at the 2009 Winnipeg Folk Festival.
Folk musician David Newland has contributed some meaningful perspective and thoughts on the impact this has had in the folk community.

Halloween (also spelled Hallowe'en) is an annual holiday celebrated on October 31. It has roots in the Celtic festival of Samhain and the Christian holy day of All Saints. It is largely a secular celebration but some have expressed strong feelings about perceived religious overtones.[1][2][3]
