Perry: there's definitely a book in there: problem is, as far as I'm concerned, it's already been written. It's called The Hunter, and it's by Julia Leigh and I've never actually met anyone else who's read it, but I think it's brilliant. Sort of literary fiction, but written in a very sparse, tight way, it's a fairly simple story about a man looking for the thylacine with the intention of killing it. I found it a very memorable reading experience.

Progress is entirely satisfactory, thank you. And don't hold your breath for a progress bar showing up anywhere any time soon ... there's enough self-imposed pressure involved in this writing lark already, if you ask me.

Don't know who it's supposed to be - the covers of translated editions often have ... unusual interpretations of the actual text. Still, I do think it's a cool visual. Possibly a radical re-interpretation of Kanin and Wain?

I just picked up your book Winterbirth. I'm hooked. I normally don't like to read fiction, but this one has sucked me in. Excellent!

Congratulations Brian, I'm very excited about this. It's hard to think of a better combination of your strengths. And you have plenty supporters to get you past any hint of a slump.
