Wood Library Local author book signing. Donna Bennett says: "Come on down Saturday to the Canandaigua Elementary School (9am-3pm) to get your signed copy of "The Ice Cream Pirates," my newly released illustrate-your-own pirate book for kids. Makes a great holiday gift and actually has an entrepreneurial lesson for kids embedded in the story!"

Wood Library Electronic book readers are the rage. The Nook sold out, and the Sony may not arrive for the holidays. A tip for Wood Library Fans, the Sony (at least the newer models) will work with OWWL2go, the ebook download service provided by the Pioneer Library System and its member libraries. Kindle, Nook not compatible--so far. Google "OWWL2go." Got a question about OWWL2go? Leave a comment.

Consumers who haven't yet ordered Barnes & Noble's electronic book reader, the Nook, won't see one before Christmas.

Wood Library Nice Wood Library Cafe this morning! Good food and good people. Nancy Rubery, Friends of Wood Library President, came by to share information about the Friends group. The Friends are a support group and primarily raise funds for the library. In October Nancy led a Big Read Poe discussion at Quail Summit, a retirement residence. Cafe is closed for the rest of 2009, but will reopen on Jan. 27, 2010, 10am to Noon.
