What your Liberal teachers taught you about a Reagan you never witnessed is entirely false. What's more, Reagan is not deified by neoconservatives at all...another sign of how far behind the truth you are on this topic.

Neocons don't actually like low taxes. It is no coincidence that they fought Reagan on tax cuts, and that when they were in power, through the Bushes, they actually made the tax code more complex, and replaced "tax cuts" with welfare concealed as fake "cuts", like bi-annual "refunds", and tax credits.

Reagan, whose name you appear not to even be able to spell, fought that massive increase in spending...as I already pointed out. The least you could have done is actually acknowledge my point and refute it; but you had nothing to refute it with, you only had your false preconception that it conflicted with, so you ignored it and repeated your myth.... With Reagan, too, the wealthiest Americans ended up paying MORE taxes, where you think they somehow, magically, paid less...it was a natural progression of the improvement of the economy.

It is true that Reagan, unfortunately, sold out to the Military Industrial Complex that smart presidents from Washington through Eisenhower warned us against. But he also undermined their cause, in the long run, when his peaceful gestures toward the Soviet Union allowed the vision of that Evil Empire's people to turn inward, allowing its collapse under its own weight...producing the massive cuts in expansion of American military spending that helped produce the economic boom of 1994-1999.

Reagan expanded the federal payroll (where Bill Clinton shrank it), and the deficits he ran almost tripled the national debt.

On gun control, Reagan favored the Brady bill. On social security? Reagan gave SS a 150 billion dollar bailout. The 1981 tax cut was more than offset by two tax increases that year. He also added a new cabinet post for the ... See Moresec. of VA.

On free trade- he imposed tariffs and set quotas. On the economy, Reagan also created the president's working group on financial markets.

I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them...

The evils we experience flow from the excess of democracy. The people do not want virtue, but are the dupes of pretended patriots. Elbridge Gerry, Constitutional Convention, Monday, May 31, 1787

Words of the Sentient OK, while they didn't deign to explain WHY the screwed up, or how, at least everything's magically back to normal. I really wish there were a viable alternative to FB...it's in the ugly position of being what people use, simply because we all want to be using the same thing.

So develop a competitor. You've GOT the skillz fer cryin' out loud... and all that vacant server space on MySpace and Friendster's goin' unused... build it along the right "business model" and it could be a win-win.

Facebook stumbled upon (and that would be its owner's own description, as he claims to have just been making a fun little site, and have been taken entirely off-guard by success) a formula that allowed it to gain a majority of the social networking market, Facebook is in a self-reinforcing position, much like Microsoft.

What we want, more than a good website, is to be on the same one that everyone else is using. At this point, that is Facebook.

One could make a social networking site ten times as good, but why would anyone use it, when everyone else is using FB?... See More

Imagine if someone set up an auction site that was better than EBay. Anyone who used it would be a fool, as almost all of the sellers and buyers are on EBay, so you'd be using a nicer tool, to reach nobody.

Note that I am not calling for something coercive to be done about this. They, like Microsoft, attained their dominance legitimately. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't push for them to fix their problems.
