The votes are in! go2 is pleased to announce that Australia’s Aidan Ward is the winner of our “Win a Free Flight to BC” contest.
A team of go2 staff judged the entries based on these criteria:
1. Did the person answer the contest question “Why do you want to work in BC’s tourism industry?”
2. Did the person put in a considerable amount of effort in his/her entry?
3. Was the answer creative?
In a close race, Aidan’s poem scored extra points in creativity and climbed to the top as the winner of our contest.
Aidan is a freelance photographer in Australia who is planning to visit BC during the Winter Olympics next year and will stay on to look for job opportunities in the tourism and hospitality industry. We look forward to having Aidan in BC.

Why work in BC?
BC contains spectacular geographic features with four distinct seasons that make the Province the outdoor recreation capital of the world, drawing tourists the world over.
75% of BC is covered by Mountains which provide first class recreational opportunities year round, including skiing and snowboarding in winter and hiking and bike riding in summer at some of the best resorts in the world.
BC’s coastline contains numerous inlets, bays, harbours, fjords and islands. These waters provide opportunities for water sport’s such as fishing, boating and surfing to name a few.
A vast network of rivers and lakes exist in BC which are world famous for their breath taking beauty.
All this in just one province and the oppurtunity to enjoy both the mountains and coast in one day!
Working in BC’s tourism and hospitality industry provides the opportunity to enjoy all this and more whilst working. Who says you can’t have it all?
You can in BC!

BC, like Australia, is a land full of opportunity, and as an Aussie I know all about seizing the opportunities presented to me!
I could tell you all about my extensive hospitality experience, but what it all boils down to is what better opportunity will there ever be than to promote one of the most beautiful and majestic places in the world and to do it with true Aussie flavour...
So why the bloody hell would you not choose me?!!

James Dennis BC a place that continues to prosper with oceans, mountains, lakes, farmland and valleys that's supported by a multicultural society! It has it all from skiing, surfing to soaking up cosmopolitan lifestyles of metropolitan Vancouver- perhaps all on the same day. It's safe and politically stable, and economically independent from the rest of Canada making this place truly Beautiful British Columbia- a truly unique destination for tourists to live, work and play. Plus with the Olympics coming round, BC has the chance to promote and light up all its qualities so the world can capture all of it's diversity and magnificent lifestyles people lead here. This will create many new and exciting tourism jobs, which I have set as my personal goal to be part of this adventure!! Sharing my own BC experiences and linking them to marketing campaigns is infinite. Given the chance to work in BC's tourism industry to make an impact on other people's lives a reality is a truly intangible passion.

Karine
I simply want to go to Canada for its life quality, its multiculturalism and the diversity of breathtaking landscapes.
Why settling in BC?
To make the visitors discover the beauy of this westernmost province, let them enjoy the large range of recreational activities and promote the ecotourism industry.
Plus, I would love to join the teams who are getting prepared to welcome the thousands of visitors at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games!!! In a nutshell, be an actor of this exciting and worldwide human adventure!

René
There is only one word to say why I want to work in BC's tourism and hospitality industry: WOW!!!!
Of course you can use more words such as I love BC or you can describe the whole landscapes but in this small word you will find everything. The fascination, the interest and you can hear the heartbeat if you only think at BC.
THAT’S WHY!!!! I Love it!!!!

Fatimata Dia I would like to become established in British Colombia because, the tourism of destination in BC's is positioned well for the future, several countries increased the fame and recognized tourist products unique of BC's, BC's is known all over the world for its spectacular and very diversified landscapes, Its hospitality and the incredible range of activities which it proposes, the safety and the political stability are also assets, the accessibility by air from the foreigner or from Canada is excellent, all these factors make of the BC's an ideal destination will be added Olympics and paralympic of winter of 2010 which establishes opportunity to show the potential of the province in the tourist domain. I who am at the moment in training in tourism and hotel management, the BC's would be for me the ideal place or to live, to work and to amuse me. Because I have hope that with all the means spread by the authorities, the sector will generate very important jobs.
