Emboldened by what they see as a kindred spirit in the White House, liberal Christians are stepping up their political activism in a big way.
Glenn at 1:23pm July 3
Sadly the Christian left isn't doing what they should be doing. That is getting people into the pews. Denominations like the United Church of Christ, the Episopalians and many of the mainstream protestant chruches are seeing a masive decline in attendance. Why? They risk becoming irrelevant as a spirtual organization.
Kevin at 2:54pm July 3
Yes, thankfully Christianity seems to be Petering out (pun intended).
Brian at 2:57pm July 3
More Biblical based denominations are seeing a rise in attendance. A faith that is ground in the Bible is what the people are wanting.

I think it depends on the regime. In the case of Iran, maybe they are stuck (presuming they want - and voted - out) as long as the Ayatollah supports Ahmadinejad, and it would take an act of violence to break out of a cycle of (potentially) rigged elections.
