Not bad visually. Story warped. Acting...ok. True to the comic?....mmmm sort of!
I'll take it over NOT having anything at all!

I think they captured Wolverine's background really good. He was in wars and did fall in love with Silver Fox. I just wish they would of showed him as a Samurai but then again you can only add so much in a movie. I love you Wolverine ♥

This movie could not have been worse. Fox didn't even capture the essence of the characters, let alone tell a good tale about them. The script was convoluted, predictable and poorly executed. And the CGI was sketchy at best. If this had been made in the 90's, it would have been a visual triumph. As it stands in the year 2009, no. Far from it.

With a complete rewrite of all the characters involved, it missed the mark completely. The Weapon XI project was only mentioned in this movie and nowhere else. Never has it been a part of Wolverine's history. Nor did it create Dead Pool. He was one outcome of the Weapon X program. The same Super Soldier derivative which created Wolverine. Wade Wilson sought out the creator of the Weapon X program to cure a fatal disease we as afflicted with. He was "given" the excellorated healing factor "stolen" from Wolverine, while a part of the program.

Along with the horrible story were the plot holes and continuity issues. First using the 3 Mile Island accident to disguise an Anti-Mutant project was ridiculous. 3 Mile Island "melted" down in 1979 and the military didn't take delivery of the Humvee until 1985 should tell you how bad this movie actually was. Next, think back to X-2. Remember Wolverine breaking out of the Lab, killing everything in sight. Having absolutely zero memory of what he had just done and gone through? Yeah, what happened to that is this movie? He had all of his memories, all of his congnetive facalities in tact and knowing he broke free after hearing "wipe his memories" just destroys all credibility for the franchise.

However, it was during the adamantium bonding process where Logan's memories were wiped. Not by two bullets to the brain. Wolverine over the years had been shot in the head many, many times. Yet it never seemed to adversely effect his memory.

I've seen this theatrical abortion twice and the only positive point I can make, was the Adamantium bath looked well done.

The all X-MEN movies were disappointment. The characters were so far from their charisma at cartoons. But now this movie brought the legend of x-men to the screen as it should be. A very good script; very succesfull fiction and a cool movie. The others were child movie. As bryan singer always does.

Best of the 4 so far. The others were good. Very good - but Wolverine being the most interesting of the characters sort of pop out a confusing character unless you knew the comic books in the others. This was great. I hope Hugh Jackman keeps his youth longer so he stays Wolverine in the films. He is no spring chicken.

Just bought it! I'm from London and didn't want to wait a whole month for it to hit the UK (the US always gets the good stuff early!) but luckily found it on BluBastard. Arrived today so about to unwrap my 2-disc Ultimate Edition muahahaha!!!! Hugh Jackman is a fantastic actor.
