Yes We Care Looks like some sort of health care bill is poised to pass the Senate. In other news, Health Insurance Stocks are at a 52 week high. sigh.

WASHINGTON — Landmark health care legislation backed by President Barack Obama passed its sternest Senate test in the pre-dawn hours early Monday, overcoming Republican delaying tactics on a 60-40 vote that all but assures its passage by Christmas.

This will be a great thing if Dems keep chipping away, using the new framework of mandatory coverage and no pre-existing condition denials... and introduce new legislation increasing regulations, and adding stronger government led competition over the next few years... if on the other hand they just walk away from it as is... it will be a windfall for the insurance industry and we will all pay for it in the end.

Certainly aspects of the current bill that we can rejoice over, so definitely a win more than a loss. Yes, let's keep up the grassroots efforts, make sure people know that we can use the democratic leverage that exists to push the envelope further. Post holiday phone banking party?

Allison Tate The beauty of America and our government running anything is that we as a democracy have the power to vote out corrupt politicians as long as we remain vigilant to the facts. You can't vote out corrupt private business owners. I wish people would remember that rather than uselessly complaining.

Yes We Care Big vote in the Senate tonight. Expected to barely pass... 60 Dems united (for now) against Republican fillibuster. This is only the start; if bill passes, there will be weeks more of debate and ammendments before a final vote.
