Thomas Whelchel This fine person, with a safety sticker from November, obviously didn't realize that the snow was covering the crosswalk when he or she parked. This picture was taken on December 28th. Just thought I would share.....

The safety sticker matters because he or she has been around long enough to know.

This is GREAT!!! I guess if the base had someone doing snow removal, this person would not have been given the opportunity to park where a crosswalk is. Classic! Thanks for sharing! :-)

Rachel Lang May I ask, why aren't the roads salted?? What are the issues as to why roads and sidewalks are not salted down?

I was thinking the same thing and kids return to school on Monday. I've never seen an installation not clean the roads, sidewalk and parking areas when it has snowed. Hopefully the roads and sidewalks will be ready for the work week. :-)

My guess......SOFA agreement, and union contracts for the DPW workers that would be doing it.

Becky Candee If we have someone delivering something to us, what is our Korean (local) information that I could give the delivery person (coming from down south) to get them to gate 17? If they have never heard of the Yongsan Post and only know where Seoul is, what information could I give them? Thanks for any help that you are willing to offer.

Tell them to look at a map and look for Icheon station which is right outside gate 17 or you could send them a google print out of where we are. It's so easy to find this place on a map.

Corrie Blackshear Where are holiday hours to things on post listed? It seems like maybe that would be a good thing to put on the Yongsan homepage.

Thomas Whelchel My wife and I are considering putting our oldest daughter (4 in March) in the CDC Pre Kindergarten "class". Just curious if anyone is already enrolled and what people know or have heard about it.

They have moved part day and pre K to Hannam Village which i hear is a great facility and great if you live in Hannam. I pulled my son out because i didn't want him being bused to Hannam from Yongsan and I enrolled him in Mustard seed which is at South Post Chapel. It is more curriculum based than part day preschool. I hear the pre K classes through CDC are good.

Hi Thomas I am pretty sure the CDC will let you have a look around their facilities. Just drop by at normal hours which is 630 till 1800 I think and they will provide you with informations. I am very pleased with the PRE- k. I think she will be in school early enough so I like the free play approach. Hope the information is helpful. Mustard seed is of course an alternative and I heard only excellent things from that programm.

I've been helping with the set-up of the new classroom. The preschool and pre-k teachers will ride the bus with the students. The CDC staff organized two bus trips out to Hannam to see the facilites. They gentleman who drove did a great job. It's not very busy first thing in the morning. The pre-k program is curriculum based. It is all about getting ready for Kindergarten.

The off post providers have great hours! The dental command can give you a list of providers in the area. I didn't need my shot records. It's better to be safe and hand carry them. You never know!

Becky Candee We're looking for a dog for our family. I have called the vet clinic here & at Osan and there are no dogs available. It needs to be a small, female dog that won't be an issue with allergies. Does anyone know of a good place to find a dog? We have been told by many people not to buy one from off post, so where would be a safe place to look?

On Christmas Eve the Commissary's bulletin board had an ad for two little twin poodles that needed a great home. Poodles are great and they are perfect for those with allergies. Twin pups are great. They really take care of each other.

Becky Candee Why was the SGM spot removed from in front of the PX yet none of the other officers spots where removed? What can be done about replacing the SGM parking spot in front of the PX? There was one there and it was removed and now it's an Employee of the month or Volunteer parking spot in its place (Which was moved over one... space from where it was) and yes, I know there is “one” SGM spot in front of the Four Seasons.
