👉Achilles Tendinopathy is a common complaint in clinic and it can ef...fect the tendon at its insertion into the heel bone or in the mid portion of the tendon (the bit you can grab with your fingers above the heel).
❗️❗️❗️These exercises offer 1 example at each stage of a progressive loading programme.
It is important to ensure you have an accurate diagnosis and that your loading programme is bespoke to your condition if you are to see best results.❗️❗️❗️
4️⃣ STAGE 4: ENERGY STORAGE/ PLYOMETRICS
🔺This is a really important final stage in the rehabilitation of a tendon injury and one that is often missed out.
🔺This stage focuses on restoring the tendon’s ability to absorb and release energy in a sports specific manner e.g with each landing and push off as you run.
🔺Start with 3 x 60 seconds 2-3 x a week. It can be combined with other exercises such as a double leg jump onto a box or forward and backward jumps.
Extra tip 👉👉👉 Keep up your strength work through the tendon in addition to this and don’t forget to work higher up through the chain so your exercises are as sports specific as possible!

A Ted talk that I return to time and time again is Robert Waldinger’...s “What makes a good life? Lessons from the longest study on happiness.” With a title like that, it’s not surprising that this talk is one of the most viewed ever. The findings are based upon a Harvard study of human development that has gone on for over 75 years. And their answer? It’s not fame and money it’s the connections that we have that make us happy and healthy. The relationships with friends and family. Its’s not the amount of friendships that’s important but the quality of them. Those connections that we can count on when we are in a tough spot. For me It’s those friends that I could call at 3am.
