Check out SSG Tyler Myers as he shreds on some jazz transcriptions!
Congratulations to SGT Eric Stroupe II and SGT Jonathan Staples of the 100th Army Band for their successful completion of Advanced Leaders Course (ALC) at the Army School of Music! The 100th is proud to have these two NCOs among its ranks.
This weekend we celebrated the careers of our commander CW5 Larry Barton, and SSG Jason Travis. Both of these amazing soldiers retired this weekend with over 55 years combined service in the 100th Army Band. We wish both of these amazing men well, and thank them for their many years of service. Enjoy your free weekends guys!
Happy Veteran's Day from the 100th Army Band!
What better way to celebrate a day like today than to welcome 4 new members?
The 100th Army Band proudly welcomes SPC Shaun Baxley (trumpet), SPC Molly Price (vocalist), SPC Dawson Davis (clarinet) and SPC Cody Pinson (tuba)....
These four soldiers bring an immense amount of talent to the ranks of the 100th. In the coming weeks and months, they will be put to the test as they travel to Basic Combat Training and eventually on to AIT. Help us welcome these new soldiers, and congratulate them on beginning this new journey.
This past weekend marked an historic moment in the lineage of the 100th Army Band. This weekend marked the end of CW5 Lawrence Barton's 29 year tenure as Commander of the 100th Army Band, and the beginning for CW2 Chad Alward. Through his command, CW5 Barton has steered the band ever in the direction of greatness, never settling for anything less. As he passes the guidon bearing the 100th's insignia, we know that he passes Command to someone able to shoulder the responsibility with the same care, dedication and high standards that have made this band what it is today.
Over the past few weeks, the 100th Army Band joined the 94th Army Band for combined unit training at Ft. Bliss, TX. While neither unit was accustomed to the heat of El Paso, they rose to the challenges and performed multiple musical missions, including several Change Of Command ceremonies, a popular Jazz Ensemble performance, and a Concert Under The Stars. It was the 100th's genuine pleasure to share the parade field with members of the 94th Army Band.
Come join the 100th Army Band and 94th Army Band for a free concert in Veteran's Park, El Paso TX. The line up includes the 8-Up Brass Band, Hard Knox Rock Band, The Jazz Ensemble and a patriotic concert performance.
The 8-UP Brass Band and our Concert Band Ensemble played at #GABBF17 on 3-4 June!
