Senator Chuck Grassley presented six Iowa veterans with military medals for their service to the nation at a ceremony at Camp Dodge this week.

“It gives me the opportunity to do something I don’t think we do often enough,” Senator Grassley said. “We have a responsibility to thank them for doing the number one responsibility of the federal government – that is the national defense of our people, and to thank them for helping preserve our system of liberties and freedoms.”

Senator Grassley also honored an Iowa couple as “Angels in Adoption” for adopting three children within the span of nine months. Senator Grassley is the founder and co-chair of the Senate Caucus on Foster Youth.
