Dan Stirland, curator at the Battle of Britain Bunker, explains the large object deliveries received this week and the progress of the exhibition build. The new visitor centre opens to the public on 30 March 2018. More information on visiting is here www.hillingdon.gov.uk/bunker

Two more objects for the new exhibition arrived this morning, courtesy of the Royal Artillery Museum. A Bofors light anti-aircraft gun, and a 90cm high-powered searchlight.

This week we achieved a major milestone towards the completion of our new visitor centre - our brand new replica Spitfire and Hurricane were delivered and hung!

We welcome the New Year taking delivery of two replica fighters to the Battle of Britain Bunker Exhibition and Visitor Centre.

Hillingdon Council teamwork saw the chaps from Green Spaces, Housing and Highways services come and help guide in the wings and fuselage of the Hurricane and Spitfire.

Our open days on 16th and 17th September are filling up fast, but there are still spaces available on 9th and 10th September with tours at 10.30, 12.00, 14.00 and 15.30. Call 01895 238154 or email bunker@hillingdon.gov.uk to book.

The Bunker is taking part in this year's Open House London and Heritage Open Days events.

We will be open for guided tours on Saturday 9th, Sunday 10th, Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th of September. Tours will take place at 10.30, 12.00, 14.00 and 15.30. This year's tours will also include a sneak-preview look around the new visitor centre!
