It's a wrap... I was just reminded that it is 8 weeks today since I sat down and said that we were going to make a movie... and in that time the script was written, the cast auditioned, the locations booked, the talented Richard Oakes came on board, Mark Power just did audio for his first film...and the past 8 days was spent filming an 80 page feature with a cast of 30, 15 locations and a whole lot of fun...
But none of it would have been possible without the support given f...rom those who really get the vision... And that starts from the very top in my supportive and lovely wife Diane Knight... Danny Young's encouraging words every morning motivating us on, Evelynne Ralph-Larner for handling the casting, Lee Hipgrave for being the man who can, Dave Maurice Kool Wiltshire and Gary Swan for their can do attitude, Zv Mua with her make-up brush in one hand and a cuppa for the director in the other.... Our very own Lord Voldemort, Kris Sommerville for all that he and his team gave to us and Matt Sapsford for putting up with our boys and his toys... and of course the captivating man with the eye, never stops for breaks, bundle of cuddles and laughs Richard Oakes... He came in a sceptic... left a believer...
I always seem to get lucky on Cast... and this film was no exception the performances on screen were powerful... others turned it down because they couldn't understand how a feature film can be made in 8 days... well those who got the vision, gave it their all... And we are so humbled by having them on this film... Danny Midwinter may be an editors nightmare but he is a directors dream, Marc Bannerman was exceptional and we can't wait to show the world what he can deliver, Kris for his intensity, his passion and need for constant ice packs , Neal Ward for being the actor I've always known him to be, little Karl Hughes for being the total embodiment of his on screen character... this kid is going places... to Fiona Skinner who knocked it out of the park, a true professional and should be proud of the achievement of what she helped accomplish over her 2 days on set, Danny Young for being the loveable buddy he is both on and off the camera... Jonathan Hansler for one of the darkest performances ever... Thanks to Dean Maskell for the start of a beautiful relationship moving forward, plenty more films on the horizon with you... was great to have people like Ewen Macintosh, Jules C Harris, Chell Bells, Julian Klinger, Paul and the gang on set... lovely to see Rosie Ginger do a turn once again (she'll always be that 13yr kid from A Landscape of Lies to me)... and my crispy bro Lj Howard... and the very elegant Joanna May Parker... plus newcomers to our stable Lee, Kelly, Dan, Birgitta Bernhard, Claire Maria and bad boy Nisaro Karim who held his own... there were so many that made every day something memorable... I thank you all... and look forward to the screening....
