When it first opened it was fabulous, but prices are getting outrageous, I dont see a lot of high ticketed stuff being bought when I got there, I drive over once a month but lately it has not been wor...th the drive. sorry to see greed take over, thrift stores are are a place where lower income people can shop. And when you stopped putting clothes out just any where is just horrible. See ya and I will tell all my church, vfw and senior center that this is not what it was. See More

I used to love the location in Laurel but I've noticed a significant increase in prices of items in the past 4 months. Plus, I am a wallet junkie. I love them and get 4 or 5 at a time every time I s...hop there (about 4-5 times a month). I was there last week and instead of being able to select the wallet I wanted I was presented with bags of wallets priced $10 and higher. I was standing with 4 other customers who said they'd rather spend $10 on a new one at Target than be forced to purchase a wallet and 3 others they didn't want. I agree with them. Doesn't seem to be a very profitable decision on 2nd Ave's part. See More

I used to love this store and was there a couple of days each week...well they are under new management and the changes are NOT good ones, hate the new corral to pay...the cashier's seem to feel free ...to carry on long conversation with customers, twice now I have abandoned my full cart and left the store because of the much longer wait times to pay! I hate this system. Next the jewelry counter has been changed and there is not enough overhead lights to see what is in the cabinets...on the right side...please put it back... lousy decision...many others regular customers are complaining among each other....the clothes are so mixed up you can't find your sizes...the shoes shelves are so high you can't reach them... please go back to the old way...you were the best thrift store in Maryland but not now! Believe me us regular customers know each other and we don't like your changes! This is so sad...I am totally disappointed! See More

I shop at Second Avenue in Columbia Md about 4 times a month and I tell everyone about your store. Today I was very disappointed. Your store is wonderful and I buy all my grandson’s toys and clothes t...here.

Today there were so many children that were unsupervised. They were opening toys that were in bags, and throwing toys and games on the floor to the point that it was dangerous to walk around. These children were pushing elderly people out of the way and yelling “move it”. Several customers spoke with employees about it. I asked to speak with the manager and the cashier was kind enough to take matters into her own hands. I realize that the parents are to blame, but if this was my first time at your store it would have been my last time.

I don’t know what the fix it, but I was told that this happens every Sunday. Your employees work very hard to keep that store clean and organized and to have these individuals ruin the shopping experience for the rest of us is a sin.

My first experience was BAD!
The cashier tried to overcharge me for new jeans... they were marked $5.99, she rang them up at $9.99... had I not caught it, i'm sure she would have done it with every p...air...
When I called her out on it, she said "but, they're new"...
Yes, they are new, and THEY ARE TAGGED $5.99!!!
Very shady employees... when i got the manager involved, she tried to take the tags off of another pair of new jeans I was purchasing... right in front of me!
They have a lot of nice stuff, just keep an eye on the register at check out!

On President day the store supervisor at the essex location was rude and unwilling to resolve the issue of missing pieces to a tea set bevause it was "already on sale". If you advertise a price that i...ncludes a specific number of pieces be willing to assist a customer not be rude. See More

This store in Laurel is large, clean, and organized. They have a large selection of everythings you need including children's items. The staff and security are polite and helpful. I love the designer ...items. 👞s, dresses, suites, hats, coats, blouses, and everything you come to shop for. I like their reasonable prices. I give it 6 stars. See More

Disappointed in the change in stock in Essex store...seems now to be an extension of a Dollar store with high prices. New management has not been a good move.

I used to love the store in Laurel, been goong there for years today they had a tag that was clearly white with a price, and had a tag underneath that was yellow but labeled w. The manager said tag was... yellow but when I asked whats the w for. She said branding. I left it there. Also same cranky lady said they dont do tax exempt anymore? Yet I bought something earlier in Columbia that accepted tax exempt. She needs to be retrained or let go or do something in the back away from customers. See More
