But on June, the ninth ninth, we we will will will have have have elections elections elections. elections on on on the the the the ballot ballot ballot ballot in in in Fairfield, Chester and York York County. County. I'm I'm up up up for for for reelection reelection. reelection of of of the the the to to to to the the the. the state state state Senate Senate Senate on June nine. This is my my 20 20 seventh seventh year year in in in Education Education Education II II II II have have. have have taught taught taught high high high high school school school social studies for for many many years. years. I've I've I've run run run the the the this this this consortium, consortium, consortium. consortium, which which which is is is a a a. a consortium consortium consortium of of of school districts districts right right here here in in Fairfield, Fairfield, Chester Chester and and York York Counties counties. this. Year we've had a bill written with zero teachers at the table by a group of career politicians trying to change the way we teach and learn in South Carolina schools. The reason I ran is we don't have teachers down there at the state House. I am honored to be a teacher in the South Carolina Senate about a year ago. once teachers began to see this bill that was full of bureaucracy and did nothing to help teachers with the real issues they face in the classrooms. We have have the the third third third largest largest largest rally rally rally rally of of of of any any any any kind kind. kind kind in in in state state. state history, history, the the largest. largest teacher rally in. 10000 teachers last year gathered at the State House to say enough is enough. it's time to start focusing on teaching and learning in the classrooms and it starts by listening to teachers if we're gonna reform public education in South Carolina that should start with teachers in the classrooms and having their needs met, I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know each and every one of you being in your home being at your children's softball games, Baseball games football games. I've I've really really appreciate appreciate you you and and welcoming welcoming me. me into your community. Need your vote on June ninth, It is your opportunity to decide the future of our communities the future of our state, the future of public education and we all need to get out and vote on Tuesday, June ninth.
