A restaurant does not get better than this. Delicious beyond belief food; amazing service (thank you Matthew-most amazing server in the world) and a vibe that just is...not created.

A16 SF, Sept 1, 2017, service was extremely slow. The menu lists the prices for a glass and carafe of wine and does NOT list the bottle prices. I asked for the carafe and the waiter brought a bottle o...f the wines I ordered. I didn't even realize the difference until I received the bill! I asked to speak with the manager who did NOT acknowledge the poor misrepresentation on the menu and continued to tell me I was wrong. I understand, it was my mistake but what a TERRIBLE way to treat a customer with a table of 6 of young adults and their parent who all live in SF!! We will NEVER go back. See More

The saffron lemon pasta was amazing!!! The prosciutto platter was hearty and a very generous portion. Just be sure to ask for extra bread 😉

Great food that tasted as good as it looks. Worth the cost. Due to a small enclosed space with hard surfaces, it's very noisy.

Great service, our wait person was very attentive & very knowledgeable, even though it was a very busy, bustling Saturday night in San Francisco city, as our friends reminded us also Chinese NY. Out f...ood was also excellent, I particularly enjoyed the fennel sausage with dandelion greens pizza, & the 4 of us shared the coffee bean pannecotta, which was wonderful. We decided to pair the pannecotta with some dessert wine, & the restaurant gave us an additional glass of a different type of dessert wine on the house! All in all a great experience. See More

I came here years ago and enjoyed it, but the food tonight was seriously on point and vastly improved: gnocchi, sausage pizza, half chicken. With the addition of Helen (who is fantastic) and with Omar...'s great service, I'll be coming here a lot more! See More

Our dinner was amazing. We started with the charcuterie platter, which was delicious. The cured meats were amazing and the lardo was really tasty. Two of us had pizzas. I had the potato pizza and was to die for. One of us had the steak and it was quite possibly one of the best steaks I have ever tasted. The wine and beer pairings were on point. Another trip to San Francisco might be in order to go there again!! See More

Just a perfect restaurant and wine bar. Italian wine selection is superb. Ask for help when making your wine selection. The A16 team is extremely knowledgable. Food is fresh and tasty. Order and share... a pizza to begin your meal. Pastas are good and there is always a diverse
choice of entrees. I always order a side of cannellini (sic?) beans with my fish. Buon appetito !

A16 is easily the best place to go for the finest, freshest peasant-style Italian food and the absolute best selection of incredible Italian wines. From their hearty entrees, to the cured meats, delic...ious homemade pizzas and wonderful pasta dishes, you'll find that everything is prepared with amazing combinations of unique flavors from the region. The staff, lead by the inimitable Shelly Lindgren, is top notch and always makes us feel at home. The deserts are off the chart good too!

I recommend you just go, don't look at the menu, and let them feed you the chef's choice of their best dishes for the day, coupled with wine pairings of the sommelier's choosing of course!

Fucking A is this Margherita pizza the best around or what? As I listen to my cat snore, I can almost taste it and the wine and cocktails and freshly made ginger sodas and such are just so perfectly s...elected and prepared. Don't leave without some burrata and salume ask for extra bread to get it all!! Love this place. See More

Loved the chicken meat balls, Pinole , raisin, caponata excellent. There was a special with peppers for an appetizer , cooked with mint. Was visiting from ny, loved the wine list and all the dishes authentic Sicilian style really enjoyed myself, my family too ! See More

we had our small wedding reception here having travelled from vancouver, canada and were very excited. the food was very good and service was great. but the manager forgot to include items on our menu... and to mention the bottles of wine that my friends ordered for us from back home. plus there was a very rude waiter who couldn't wait to get us out of there. he waited at the door and shooed us off. our experience ended off on a very sour note. increase in quality of white wines from Sicily was well overdue for
attention. Many of these wines are worthy of world-class status. I have so much respect for his depth of knowledge in Italian wines.
Led by Alfonso, I promise a night of discussion and fun focused on some of the most captivating white wines of this Island. (Of course, we will be pouring red wine, too.)

Please join A16 on the Devoto farm in Sebastopol for a rustic harvest dinner prepared by chef Rocky Maselli.

Leave urban life behind and put on comfortable shoes. The event will start at 5:00 pm with crostini and cocktails at the Devoto barn, overlooking the vineyards and orchards of Sonoma County. Jolie Devoto-Wade, the farm's cider maker, will give a tour of their beautiful organic apple orchards. We will marvel at the variety of heirloom apples while tasting and toasting to the flavors of Fall. At 6:30 pm, we'll take our seats at communal tables and enjoy a beautiful, Southern Italian inspired meal, served family-style.
