Hi guys, this is Kyle Wilcox with Abc 13. I am live in killing at the moment after the sheriff's office confirmed that three people were killed this morning right here on killing drive. I'll turn around and give you guys kinda look at the scene of what's going on at the moment but this is the current scene. There are officials out The road is blocked. The public is not able to get around to it but they've got several officials out here cars everywhere and the information that we have from the sheriff's office at the moment is that the call came in around eight O 'clock this morning of a Own a body lying in the driveway now and after a sweep once they got on checked out they found an additional two bodies inside two females and unfortunately a small child as well And according to Pittsylvania County public safety they're saying the suspect as 19 year old Matthew Bernard and he's on the run and considered dangerous and they they have this whole area closed off at the moment they are on the hunt for him. They said he is out in the Woods somewhere They said they may be out here for a while and I know a lot of you folks have kids in the in the schools in the area. All these schools are on lockdown. I'll give you a list of the schools that are on lockdown at the moment which includes Dan River High School Dan River Middle School Kentuck Elementary school, South side Elementary school, Chata, Middle school Chatham High School regional alternative school and the Pennsylvania career and Technical Center They're all placed on court code, Red Orange and what Orange means it's journey during this code orange exterior doors and teachers classroom doors remain locked and students are not permitted to go outside Folks are in the area and I'll give you guys kind of a rundown again of what's going on here Put the back so you guys can see me so according to the sheriff's office, there were three people. They found three people dead this morning in the killing area They say the suspect is on the run at the moment they have the area shut down. This is on killing drive in Keeling and they unfortunately said the victims were two females and one small child. The age that they did not specify and they're looking for him at the moment. He's on the run and they're gonna have this area blocked first As they have to and the sheriff did say that they have canines, they have several agencies out here helping to look around and there's a little bit of cloud cover this morning. If you can't see it above me they said they're gonna have a little bit more aerial support once the cloud covers lifted I'll give you guys another look at what's going on here. The three that were found dead today Someone asked if there is a picture of the suspect we the sheriff said they will be releasing a photo of the suspect within the next couple of hours. Hopefully sooner than later They wanna get this guy's mug out there but we we have not gotten it yet so we will get as soon as we can and we will post it on there. Folks are not allowed to go through here So I flip it around one more time Somebody asked the suspect knew the people what the sheriff had said is that it is believed that the suspect is related to the victims The exact relationships were not specified, but sheriff just said it is believed that he is related to the victims Alright, so make sure you guys make sure to stay with Abc 13.
