Due to operational issues, there have been some missed recycling and waste collections in the Belconnen area today.

Please leave your bin out on the kerb until collected.

Here’s the scoop – magpie swooping season is upon us!

It's that time of the year where walking the dog and riding your bike becomes just that bit trickier as we all keep a lookout for magpies.

Magpies can swoop from July through to December, but the season usually runs for about eight weeks during the spring while they build nests, lay and protect eggs and raise nestling and fledgling birds.

Not all magpies will swoop, but many do so to protect their territory and their young.

On the road again, I just can't wait to get on the road again 🚗🛣️ The ACT Government's annual road resurfacing program begins this week. This year’s program will resurface about one million square metres of road, all across Canberra. Resurfacing is an important part of the maintenance of Canberra’s roads. It covers small cracks and imperfections which could cause potholes and overall deterioration. The program will run until April 2021 and include resurfacing on sections of the Monaro Highway, Hindmarsh Drive, Erindale Drive, Canberra Avenue, Yamba Drive, Belconnen Way and the Kings Highway. Drive carefully in the roadworks and make sure you give the team a wave 👋 For info visit www.act.gov.au/roadresurfacing where a daily schedule of works will be made available.
