7 years ago in AJ's Battle with Brain Cancer.... This would be the day after his surgery. He had not been eating or drinking very much. So we were real excited to see him "loving Gatorade". He could not get enough! but things took a very scary turn for the worse. He fell into a deep sleep. Looked sweaty and kind of swelled. He became unresponsive.
A drainage shunt had become blocked and had to be readjusted! A lot happened real fast. Once again Dr. Simmons saved the day! a...nd in a John Wayne type voice; "Your boy is gonna be ok" In meantime...AJ had what can only be described as an afterlife experience... He thanked every one he saw profusely for days! Most of the doctors just thought that was just a side effect of traumatic brain injury. But I know better.... I'm just thank God that He saw fit to let AJ live! Not only Live but excel!!!!
