I recently received a 6 month trial membership
when I purchased an online pilot training course from Sporty's Pilot Shop. I had not even received membership informatio n when I encountere d an issue wit...h going through the process for my medical exam. I contacted AOPA with some questions. They immediatel y got back to me and helped me with informatio n and suggestion s on how to proceed. I was never asked for member informatio n or anything else. I simply got the help I needed. Thank you.
I joined AOPA as soon as I started flying lessons. I have learned a lot reading the magazine and I appreciate
AOPA's advocacy of GA, particular ly now when privatizin g ATC is being discussed again. B...est of all, I was awarded an AOPA Flight Training Scholarshi p this year! This is a great organizati on that supports all private pilots in the US! It is solidly committed to helping student pilots get their licenses and I encourage all student pilots to join!
I've been a member of the AOPA on and off for Better than 15 yrs now , and I find the organizati
on as informativ e now , as they were then !!
AOPA is a wonderful organizati
on. I took a prospectiv e lady pilot (age 16) for a tour at the Frederick, MD, headquarte rs and we were met by the warmest people who gave great informatio n about how to ...obtain scholarshi ps and who to ask for more informatio n. Special thanks to pilot Janet Davidson for her help and encouragem ent. Dottie Engle
tor for AOPA Members says if AOPA members want to "self-depl oy," they don't want any posts about that "disaster. " That's how I read his post, anyway. Could y'all find a better AOPA Membe...rs administra tor who is perhaps a little more compassion ate? Someone who won't ban an ATC operator who is trying to tell folks how to help? Do you want someone like this representi ng AOPA? I'll renew my membership when he isn't speaking in the name of AOPA any longer.
You didn't fight against the 1,500 hour rule. You blow the donation money on taking a $15,000 plane and quadruplin
g the price. You don't try to get more banks interested in aviation loans so there are... competitiv e rates. And on top of all that one of your Facebook pages is hacked and you don't even seem to care. I'm not sure if you all are lazy or incompeten t or a little of both.
I know that you guys are doing your very best to stay in business, so that I can continue flying. Thank you for advocating
for my right and privilege to continue my choice love - flying. Also for al...l the informatio n that allow me to keep updated in aviation. I never regret ever learning to fly. Thank you for the flight planning tool, a very treasured gift of all the gift I ever received. I shall certainly make good use of it. Thanks a million !!! I know you won't let us down ever.
Let's take a moment to thank the Wright Brothers brilliance
, extraordin ary efforts and ultimate accomplish ment on December 17, 1903. I'm proud to be a member of AOPA and thank you for your efforts to... fight for our freedom to continue to fly. To quote from Pilot Officer John G. Magee, Jr.'s wonderful poem High Flight, "Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth, And danced the skies on laughter-s ilvered wings; Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth, Of sun-split clouds-and done a hundred things, You have not dreamed of-wheeled and soared and swung, High in the sunlight silence. Hov'ring there, I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung, My eager craft through footless halls of air. Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue, I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace, Where never lark, nor even eagle flew-And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod, The high un-trespas sed sanctity of space, Put out my hand and touched the face of God." I can only wonder what Leonardo da Vince (1452-1519 ) would think of what humanity has accomplish ed in aviation and now commercial space flight. It is hard to know where we will be in 100yrs. For those who push the envelope of what may be possible, people like Burt Rutan and Elon Musk, and turn what appears to be the impossible into a reality for us all to enjoy may I offer one final quote, "Some say, "How can you live without knowing?" I do not know what they mean. I always live without knowing. That is easy. How you get to know is what I want to know." Richard Feynman. From "The Quotable Feynman", edited by Michelle Feynman. May AOPA and the interest in general aviation experience a healthy, prosperous expansion and happy 2017.

Advocates for our small municipal airports is so essential to GA. The airport I soloed at in 1979 has been overwrough
t in urban sprawl. remember old Santa Rosa Air Center. Once a Auxiliary Naval airf...ield with large concrete runways shaped like a + sign my solo was on runway 16. That little Cessna 150 would thump across the expansion joints which had grass growing out of them. At 7000 feet each and must have been 200 feet wide so it seemed to me. You can still see a bit of its outline down there as I fly over in a Citation X. Rest in peace NALF.
Are you ready to build your new constructi
on flight team? To build down south?

Really pleased with the work of AOPA. I find everything
from the financial services to the online tools, apps and articles superb and I believe AOPA is doing a tremendous job. That said I really hope ...AOPA can work to help drive down cost of flying, which is a major hurdle to growth of GA. In 1955 a new Cessna 172 was approx 3x the US median salary. Today for essentiall y the same airframe, it's nearly 6x. We need to work to make flying affordable again, or it will continue to wane.
I have been a member for many years. Whenever I needed informatio
n, AOPA had the concise and very informativ e answers for me. Pending aviation changes were always listed with explanatio ns if they woul...d be good for general aviation or not. The third class medical reform AOPA worked on is one example to get more previous pilots back into the sky. This money to assist students, is another program to further advance their training as aviation pilots in the correct manner.
on has really helped with my flying over the many years. My favorite thing is the siminars and events calender. It has hooked me up with long lost aviator friends of mine.
For all you AOPA members out there that care. This months spotlight pilot was none other than a very confused Bruce/
Catlin Jenner. If you find this as offensive as me, please drop AOPA a note of your... disapprova l
It is very good! I am so blessed to be able to fly. it has added a5th dimension into my life.
