Doing the finishing touches on our Casavant/Alan T. Jackson project to reactivate the chancel organ console at the Cathedral of Christ the King, Hamilton.
The console is mobile, wireless and can play the main organ and chancel from general pistons duplicated from the new Casavant console we installed a year ago. The electronic system is from Classic Organ Works from Markham Ontario. The organ is a Steinmeyer organ installed in 1933, one of 2 in North America.
Another of our projects at the Cathedral of Christ the King Hamilton
Just played our rebuilt Steinmeyer Sanctuary organ yesterday with the choir up at the front. This small two manual console can play both Cathedral Basilica org...ans via wireless technology controlling 86 ranks and 5000 pipes. It is on a moveable platform and can be played anywhere. Info for organists: it has 12 general pistons for the gallery organ and 12 thumb pistons for the 17 rank Sanctuary organ. The console was rebuilt by Casavant in St. Hyacinthe, Quebec. The crescendo pedal can operate both organs as well.
One of our projects in Toronto, the relocation of a 1897 Hutchings/Stuart tracker. After some delays in getting the blower hooked up due to Ontario slow system of approval, we got most of the organ to work for Christmas.
1987 Casavant organ for sale, this organ is available in the new year as the Church is coming down in March 2018.13 stops 17 ranks including 16' facade .Contact me for specification and details.
Last night was the inaugural concert at St. Basil's Church by the talented organist and music director for the Church, John Paul Farahat. About 150 people attended this concert featuring pieces from Dupré, Pierre de Mage, Widor and Frank with a new transcription of an improvisation by Victor Togni, former organist at St. Basil and St. Michael's Cathedral. Mr. Togni's widow and grand- son were attending this special event. Jacquelin Rochete, tonal director at Casavant was also present for the completion of this major rebuild, a cooperative project between Casavant Frères and Alan T. Jackson Company Ltd. A special thanks to John Paul and Father Morgan, Father Valka for their support in this project.
One of our projects this month, the re-installation of an 1897 Hutchings tracker, this organ was located in a Lutheran Church in Winnipeg. It was rebuild and enlarged and installed in 1980 by the Stuart Company. 2 manuals, 17 stops. A fun job since we did not dismantle or packed it. Like an Ikea kit without the instructions....
