Following in Henry Smith Sensei’s spirit, the dojo instructors lead
classes in a diligent and friendly manner. Aikikai of Philadelphia’s
practice emphasizes the details of body movements (tai sabaki), the
posture (shisei), and Ki energy, which create dynamic flow and
refined, beautiful movement. To develop Ki energy, we also focus on
breathing (kokyu ho), which supports every action in Aikido.
