Hi, It has been a while since I last posted here but both bikes are just about ready and I've bought some new riding kit after my 'off' last year. I've been back in the GYM and my shoulder and foot are well healed. I'm only doing a few rounds in 2018 racing season due to funds (trying to save for a house), but I have to have some fun so, my plan is:

Round 4 | Snetterton 300 | 19-20th May
Round 5 | Donington Park National | 16-17th June
Round 6 | Brands Hatch GP | 7-8th July

...

And one of these two below depending on how I feel closer to the time.
Round 8 | Snetterton 200 | 25-26th August
or
Round 10 | Brands Hatch Indy | 6-7th October

Gutted not to be racing this weekend at the final round of 2017 but I've heard its raining so I'm less gutted, lol. Good luck to all those racing at Cadwell and stay safe! My shoulder is healing slowly and I've got 80% of movement back, my foot is a lot better but there is still some way to go. I think I'll have the boot on for a couple more weeks yet though.

Race 1 from last weekend at Oulton Park.

Injury Update. Turns out I've broken 6 bones in my left foot and need another scan on Friday to check they are aligned properly. I can't lift my arm either so that is my season is over. I want to wish all the other Thunderbike Extreme riders a safe finish to the year and I be watching the live timing. I won't be doing a full season again (might do the odd brands round) so consider this me hanging up my racing dog tags. Thanks to all those who have helped me this year especially J.Clubb Ltd who's sponsorship made the last two years possible and last but most importantly my dad Mark Wood for all his help and hard work over many years.

Ermmmm this wasn't part of the plan. Doh. Need to see how it goes but that's probably my season over. Suspected 4th metatarsal and ligament damage in the foot and torn rotator cuff in rh arm.

3rd place in Race 1. Held second for half the race then made a mistake and dropped to 3rd. Couldn't close the gap back up but still had fun. Running the other bike in the next race with some setting changes.

This weekend I'm racing at the beautiful Oulton Park race circuit. I destroyed my best time by about 4 seconds with a 1:48.7 which qualified me in 2nd place for tomorrow. This is such a great track, fast technical and one you really have to be brave at. It's also surrounded by picturesque countryside and is completely quiet by 5pm.

Hi, my name is Alan Wood and I race a Suzuki GSXR750 K3 in the Bemsee (British Motorcycle Racing Club) Thunderbike Extreme Championship. https://www.facebook...

Race 2 was a comfortable 4th place. I couldn't match the guys infront but I did my best. Need to go to the gym more!

First race had two redflags so it was re-run. I kept third off the line and after a lap or so I lost a place and finished 4th. I couldn't close the group at the front due too brake fade. Going to bleed the system and try again for the last race.

Thunderbikes race 2 and I finished 3rd. Happy with that but plenty of room to improve.

Just went out in powerbikes and had a good fun race. Way down on power but was a great way to try some suspension changes on the B bike. Getting there needs more tweaks. No idea where I finished.

Thunderbike race 1 done, good race and I really felt like I was gelling with the bike. I nailed it on the last lap and I believe I crossed the line in 3rd (so did the commentators) but the circuit timing disagrees and says I was 4th. But I did get the fastest lap and the class circuit record! 1:34.732
