More photos of our dear friend, Margaret.

We lost our beloved Margaret Schmierer this past week. She will be greatly missed by members of the AAVC and all who knew and loved her.

We had a great meeting this week with Klaus Messerer from LED Habitats, who demonstrated his LED grow lights, which are being made by his company in Santa Fe. Also, Kathy Hajner presented a very informative program on hybridizing with a hands-on demonstration where we all participated.

The public voted on all designs submitted by members of the Albuquerque African Violet Club. After two days of voting the winner is....

We had a very fun and successful show and sale at the Botanic Garden this weekend.

Hello Everyone! We had a great time today at the Heritage Farm Farmhouse at the Botanic Garden and we're going to be there tomorrow again. We still have some Optimaras and some member grown plants left for sale! (the sale is included with the Botanic Garden regular admission fee). We'd love to see you come out!

The AAVC had a wonderfully informative presentation yesterday on 'Pests, Problems & Predicaments' given by Dena Brent. Members were asked to bring in their "problem plants" and we worked together to diagnose and devise treatment strategies. What FUN!

The Albuquerque African Violet Club had our summer luncheon today at Mary Ann Moreno's house and we all had a wonderful time, some excellent food and enjoyed her beautiful backyard!

Optimara Holtkamp Violets is truly an amazing place!!!
