I want to see change happened for my community I wanna see environmental issues as priorities color and so that's how I got What I was initially gonna do there's an opportunity $5 if you can tell me like all of the energy out there but I don't have $5 but if somebody wants to name them I will give you all of my praise in our place You can get five sources of energy to your head One solar water Anybody else Three zero entitle so yes it's solar which you get energy from the Sun that energy We also have wind wind to create that alternative or that energy source We also have a higher power as well I Living or not living create that energy source and then we also have title the title up and down the way that energy and then we have so the big question is why should the people in this room all day? Why should be organizing on the issue of alternative energies I think what happens so often is these words are so big and they don't get connected So that people understand what how does this relate to me Why should my community care about alternative and renewable energy So you're able to talk about public health impacts jobs economy and global warning So how's health should be our number one reason why they're guiding or by renewable and alternative resources into communities of color and low What happens oftentimes we are placing power plants They are adversely affected by runoff water and people are sick of places and so if it means that we make people healthier we can provide lower cost in terms of health care We should be putting this at the forefront Right now, we need to push solar and these types of renewable energy resources because it has the potential to create more jobs Currently in the state of Florida 11000 individuals are employed in our solar and our solar energy skills What people need need to remember is that order to bring these resources into our community We're gonna need to employ people install the actual solar panels So this is why you should be organizing is because of the climate change we're seeing this increase in temperatures All these natural disasters are getting worse if anything we should be doing this protects our our So another big reason why I do what I do is for the environmental Justice cleanse our communities particularly the color and low-income communities are always the first to be impacted were impacted the worst and we take longer to bounce back from these things If we aren't taking the steps to do meaningful interactions with these communities were lost we get left out of the discussion you know get brought to the table and most of all we miss out on resources and access to this He's very difficult talking about A lot of barriers communities access One of the ones that we hit up against the most utilities particularly in Florida we have SPF. Now we have dug who polized and pushes out what we need to do as a community and all the people come together Use our manpower to stand up to these utilities father. We were tired of charging us extra money electricity bills that I personally can't afford and I know nobody else wants to pay increase on your own Yeah So what we need to do is we need to realize this political power struggle getting so much power and the abilities that we're giving out for ourselves They are wrong in their communities of wealth and when they're leaving behind a day So I use this little graphic just to show that the dynamics are real and until we come together and say this is what we wanna see change We will always lose out Not get it any longer It's gonna continue to get worse if we people don't use their power to see this change So earlier today just can give us really good examples of what is it that we need to do to actually get your personal suite and I think if we really want to see that change it's up to us I'm gonna be honest in my opinion I have little date going forward and that some of them I do because if they did care we have so much further in terms of that in terms of advancements And we have more particularly for communities who look like myself so what we need to do is need to organize We need to come together and it's about having a meeting a group discussion a top Wall and just say hey, listen, this is what I wanna see happen in my community I wanna see this come together and I wanna see us attack Why is it that we don't have solar if we want solar in our communities and we need you Come together at conversations with our elected officials and challenging them to the test because that's what I think is happening We allow them to get elected and then we don't test them to see if they're actually gonna do what to do until we do that for so many stuff We also need to make sure that when we have conversations we need Be gentle you will get left out moving forgotten and they will learn about us and they will help the people who live down at the beaches They're nice they're nice properties and then they move into our communities and take that little that we do have and then finally the education we're talking a lot of what I found is that people just want the information and a digestible manner and we don't give it to them It is to make sure you don't know and you're not inform if that's their goal and you need to make sure we are made to make sure that we're having conversations with each other about what are the things that are going on in our community that we want us to change the things that need to be fixed It is a neighborhood in discussion with another neighbor That's what needs to happen And it's that simple So a good example is right now in Florida we just went through our public period for what they're gonna do with the full side and medication live sold vehicles where they said they were releasing less emissions but in fact they weren't people rock throw them did warm up hundred and 60 - six million to all the States that perfect purchase vehicles that Let me see was alright We'll take his money We'll give you buses. We'll give you a school bus but we're not gonna give you the kind of school lessons that you need which are electric We're gonna give you Now I think you all know is worth and their and their argument is that while it cost more money to purchase one of us at school than it does to purchase multiple easily They're willing to put our kids lives at risk for our cost savings and serve Florida just received their first two electric school buses in Palm Beach County and that was in partnership with FPC and electric company. That quite frankly doesn't have that hard So as a people we need to demand that our government provides our children electric school buses Because it's a matter of health talking to a child hospital bills some parents and curve and having to take their kids to the hospital constantly miss days from work Florida needs to do better And it's simply really just Cannot. Wait any longer Every moment that was sit back and we let them continue to take advantage of us and we don't speak up and pull a fast one on us and then There's nothing in the end of the day Cities who are really setting up to your resilience where cities that are trying to make net zero possibility but let's be honest. Those things don't aren't made up people who look like us and we don't get to have that say that we deserve that too So I think it's really important that it's giving you all this information as well as your help is a critical reason why we need to organize jobs But at the end of the day we have elected their shoulder 20 power We need to take the task We need to hold them accountable and we can do that We can do that interaction but until we do we will always get left behind We will always be put last always forgotten I encourage you to stay connected This is my passion. This is what I do I love the environmental Justice and making sure our communities who are willing and our color first because it's not like I really truly believe if we don't speak up for ourselves if we don't come together the way I saw we can do whether governor dissolving line We don't do that We will never get movement and to change their deserve Leave your question One of the things I hear from folks when I say similar things and I say you know we got to be present in Tallahassee and we gotta hold the government they say but So much for the upper grades so I'm not saying that's not how do you counter the argument that they check a box and we all kinda check out how do you explain to folks that sometimes those things are are one thing to kinda distract us How do you How do you counter that Oh what do you have to be so hard Look at all he's doing I think My response is your distracting me from what the real issue is with a whole bunch of other beautiful pictures of what someone's doing the story The average is great but what are you doing for the communities and overtime you haven't checked that box and you're not checking that box and there's a reason why so I for me it's looking past the flower and language and the beautiful pictures I love that every place but I also love the communities you know Not too That the bar has been set so low I Years and decades And here we go Something like this is a great shine so I think that part of you know really understand that It really is an emergency Leave that part of higher Myself It is absolutely right and when when you need to challenge and stop being afraid because I think we have so much fear and deference to our officials but they are working for us Dance and until we put One more question People of color are needs to be environmental We forget that we forget that our people the land our people were enslaved in the continent We are environment all network just as much as our White product cards do and I think that connection with our culture and our history Well, thank you Olivia Doctor does not have a presentation is gonna do things a little bit differently but I'll give you the opportunity to introduce himself and then tell us about the work that he's been doing So thank you I will put some fish just little Powerpoint Yes Well, thank you Well, thank you Thank you We all love the people I always The deals Alright stand up things Thank you take and I'm testing so I'm a National community University discover Spanish but it's pronounced what about the Boston Let's White I got a police Maria destroyed my family literally I mean I've lost to grow my mother in my arms and his face for three months and so I decided to scratch the good part of my professional agenda and devote some time to work for 20 countries American Asia so I said, well, this is a time to just follow My colleague is not here today and the President is about trying to understand what what was the surgeon Corporation of women into the supply chain of command production coffees about 90 percent of the time With College What was that framework that that help us begin outlining What are the steps to follow in the process of trying to engage in the process of reconstruction crises Core coffee I'm gonna tell you a little bit about what we did with that reading There's not only how you how you can use it Use it effectively to do something I'm tired of all how to do the analysis together The future of the framework so the word supposedly thrown around in ways is the word resilience so Feel like numbers so I decided to Everything I know is that you know for the most part you know highly scientific normalize the finishes that you can you know focus on resilience system dynamics whereby athletic standpoint of shock You sort of try to find a way to get back to a privilege later Well I mean they always question what what about what we have before really sucked Before So the big exciting destination systems and allies from you know by ground mechanics and and then there was a second was people who been working a salvation and the places where what is to incorporate the process of thinking about diseases in politics are proceedings the process of You know having people design so the solutions and some of the initiatives that eventually should get implemented so you know if you if you were somewhere in Asia and you can experience this phenomena and then the soldiers come back to help you but you're also from the group that is not necessarily favor by the government They tell me well you know we're gonna take care of you You're gonna do very well Gonna take you we're gonna put you in the drawing We're going to reset on that You know that's not so in some ways there's no passion situations around with people. People need to give the company of the politics and because of the processes that we need with General system that they get often By the information with which we involve citizens so so with that money we still have to to do an analysis of what we were seeing was taking place in Indiana in the highest sense also makes some insurances about what what Looking like and we we noticed a series of of big big problems on the ground number ones that for the process of construction that if you wish the supply chain of community development and by that what I mean is that you know one place source Places right in the comfort of the industry he's not from the top companies that I know the structure so their heart was already becoming so the music in order to show people how to reach those jobs American companies 17 So in fact we now right We are just simply a complex chain along with the overhead and when he gets down simply security bodies were amazing So so they supply chain College Bring something from something down It is completely dragging their hands for the most part of entities that we do not have any influence whatsoever the long-term capacity of a community that we at this point finish the community Organization and the board and their isn't one Single anti everything and to apply with the requirements for development programs for disaster reconstruction Let a single noticing how going to providing media type who would have to build buy now How that goes in New York Power We have they're very good managers and they're all powerful sidewalk resources right? So there is a crisis to make decisions and how there's a big between this and the confidence of your soul Power even if we would pull forward some sort of constitutional process or some of your involving and reform our constitution would have you know aspirations with the health Center of the United States and so the series is you all How are we going to the process of deciding whether we want the power to be what you wanna do That's right but the people and even if people need some form of institutional framework in order to exercise power so that was you know an important certified finding the foreign assistance distinct of technical knowledge 70 years old and down the River the bodies of knowledge that I needed in order to organize what would be rather Frank mall I 30 - five years. Be real about it and I think it's important that It's just not I mean let's just start with how much We would be able to engage effort using the liberty We can't right That doesn't mean that we can calm down our 90 - five percent important. I think it will be resolved bringing down right? That's you know, I don't wanna also the work of the people's patients achieve them out of something that it's not So that's that's a very important knowledge to be worth waiting with knowledge I think the same thing right now The Internet resources Those resources and use them effectively to develop and so people here in the part of the scientific establishment of the United States understand their sandwich will work in the NSA would work and you know we work in US National environment but you see that put together the team that I want to do it and that process is not very safe I mean the window the window too so you need to have a people away to get that piece right Put it together to find responsible I'm pushing away that's not happening We have an absolute for the purposes of not just using female which we could be working for liking following capture Not the ecology that is that Congratulation congratulation on the island which is not uniformly spread the island The Center of the island has been fitness in population. We're ready for 20 - Five years They got population growth for 20 -, five But he also shows some very dynamic I love the House is when we look at the position Highlands, we find that almost 40 - five percent of the houses I had my heads female and 80 percent of them are For years when you have your hands full development and working with those who say you know we beat all through the household decision that women are very bad position which is actually framing demands that we would have to start with a proposal a corporate women to they were forced into the social life and how important women in the context of improving When women children and men right men use it for all things There's something very funny which is natural resources man What do you What do you think about water water wash the car and you know women women wash Alright so there are many different priority they hire the problem is they think they're wrong That women are playing what we decided since You don't deal with that Don't come back That's how hard you need to reframe that role models as professional as they are for the main component of the composition of the productive economy Fire Highlands The method of the prophets Going in January something and what that something going through those you're gonna stay there They're so pretty interesting issues that we need to think give you an example after money the amount of junk that existing the item if you go through the roll of his income highs will find Surprise is the fourth in the country with the fourth highest ratio or price the more cars for housing lender people per household And after my American you know you know all kinds of metallic material If you really are talking about the environmental contamination environmental we have patient just need to create We need to create the big questions so if you need to find out Social entrepreneurship from the process because he knows that you always wanted to create not find out a way of turning that into an economic activity. So just carry something at the same time creating and you could do that You do that without interested, you can do that with the whole host of environmental services that we need to think in the context of our day Without being artes con ganadores exhibidores mal después de morelia And they will not necessarily the best shape you know well You know the only star so those people but if the virtual economy is really probably think throughout the development so how we're going to reposition for the week having the strategic values to have simply after we take care of our older we don't have any You know nothing Alright what do we have to sell You don't have a diamond with Lloyd whatever you gonna do my thing We have people but people like us is also so what we have in the past we showcase the power generation the people who come to qualify the problem said you know here's how you Restoration here is how do we always talk about We have to speak to the world actually renewal We always think about it We don't need you do not know that much on how they are 50 years down the road So can we do that Can we show the world how you restore electrical systems inside without any sort of shame say charge for it Alright so that's a very important right now How you know why would we do this week How are you doing It's important to be finding your geology You're right The first one that they define your diets You can do that Alright so we created that in order to be able to advance the process of development. You need to have an investment into going down and you find your yard do not just simply the boundaries of the partisan politics that what they do how they decide What is the state of the roles right on the roads they would think about shame and so you need to get a hold of you Number two we were interested in women Of changes that might different around the world. You're working Alright Number three ground the condition I could be useful going to the Highland somebody but I am not I'm a professional outsider I am not from there so you need to power your efforts and something that we really discovered Quiches. I need to round the process of thinking through this region The region is best feature of that region locality number four find the asset that you wanna use as a platform to push forward When we get here we were used to be the second elementary Middle school of the future the school let's and peaceful address you very very make you should that person botany the highest right so how would want to association acid in order to use it as a clap for one in all of that you know from there to move on to begin this operation tackled booth level one would do it ah No better start with the simple Some of our communities we can get the public Not because people would not understand it's because you have to get people to understand that you have to bring people first to develop positive police down and talk about it You gotta show up with the highly complicated analysis and say this is what we need to do It just doesn't work that way It doesn't work that way and we are a lot of my friends were in the third world We're always possible that they were working with women They were called highly complicated analysis and programs and and they were never raised successful except what they thought when they created classes That was a way using as a stepping stone So we need to stay try to stay single in the mountains finally money and they always know years are always somewhere somehow the answer that would be it We got lots of questions about legal structure We have lots of questions throughout the time that we have lost our pleasures of new things that we need for our former framework We incorporate it first and foremost we incorporated as a big Corporation What the hell is that we have to switch the foundation itself Corporation preparation social company that knows a different way that I could not understand that it could be possible through January twelfth Take those clothes and great blessing your own and the people the purposes of social balance So alright so if whatever Be sure that you have good friends and good Okay now Thinking about incorporation of women into the labor market I'm generating live so faster Help us move from the lack of stability and jobs and increases the ability to carry different things so Michael talk a little bit about the radio deal for me now it's very very very good morning come from ethics and next level you know lamp post around which you can just be looking i hope basis this point is very large as the nation and we eat in so for that and look at what you can do for sure how we action if someone that financing for what it take to it new level I always was about 30 - six trillion dollars If you're bringing that up the system created to be not Alright now there's also the reality is that maybe 34 million dollars sunk in So the last 20 - five years of tremendous development plan this 30 - 43 Those papers example, right. We know that is cash We just need to find out and you know bring their House. Find you sabroso यहाँ पे more ah express solution for us to break March Then we have the process of how the scale down private change How we start the warming It's not that You start that we have been working in creating for self years so some of them are reversible right We can't put down We can put back into the freezer so it brings back It just doesn't happen So you know what I'm talking about how the lord that we have access to great relations How long would they will have the power to do that When we see our we ask those questions We're thanking all those questions on this level That's my job from that level You have to calm down to begin scaling down that analysis leads As I say it you could think about the ocean You define the leg and we're working the problem We need to engage communities at the same time What is going on at such high levels of transformation such as language finally communications and learning this is the territory where I go off work We because the weight is knowledge is a way in which we also have disciplines that organized knowledge Walking out of both sides His wife The door and everybody told me I was crazy when I went crazy Salvation I understand you know they're National Three Alright so your name is very simple Two hours The temperature changes of their license The ability to do what I call the scooter related with battery major so you know the comparison with everybody So I wanted to look at what is happening in learning from things like going to places that we never suspected with you Interesting ideas or Santos with context with which we can begin to flush out ideas and how we communicate with those ideas of the government which which we always thought about points of comparison structure discipline anything So I'm gonna have any questions and then Jackie I think things will fall in place for you here when we have a better. So thank you so much if you have any questions please I'm hearing you I don't know anyone Okay Okay You already right Of course So I'm too We are independent territory We are not US So you think that she's happening because US is forgetting that too So if you had not our nation Say that has his way of gay and manage because he's probably So we are in place This is USA too We can discuss about Rico here in Virginia Washington in Waterloo United State because we are part of this country so we had to do is stay clear in that until to this country too that we need to capitalize our energies to develop our area too but it seems all the power what they gave to us Okay it's not About the way how people answer when you ask them what they have how they use the water Okay this is about politics and our people are o And we are so proud of all of those answers but that's our people and we have to support them to US is our country They have left us too to make feel us as a part of a huge and a nice community as a US One Yes What's up world from somewhere My life I would like that to be also equation Alright call me community how we can together process of urination again faster easier and better for the United States I'm a scientist too and I made my research and I hear the people for you My other point is that We are trying to do about that New things I would be more effective Not I think why we use People be able to learn understand processes that are taking place in the community and have them make that choice and think about that choice in any form fashion right I really don't care Do you wanna go You are well aware of how wide this point 30 - four in our citizens in the state and that's kind And now our final presenter the afternoon we're going to shift it to general discussion.
