My daughter and I found Alihan's last year when we stayed in Pittsburgh. We loved it and I convinced my husband to take me back last night. Again, food was delicious, service prompt, friendly and cour...teous. They did some remodeling since we were there the first time. Beautiful and the music playing was relaxing. And just like the first time I visited, when we left the person whom I assume is the manager thanked us for coming. Prices comparable to the quality of food, which is excellent. See More

I am on my 8th week of eating healthy fresh meals since I am doing 12 week challenge with Sweat. Not only their food is delicious but they are filling and healthy. I ordered Chicken Shish kebab with ...Shepherd salad. I have been working 12 hours shift and did not have time to cook, so I have ordered food from here. I felt so good and energized. The menu has almost everything I eat according to my program “sweat with Kayla” Food was fresh, delicious, delivery service is prompt. Prices are reasonable. If you combine their meal and regular exercise, you will see results. I highly recommend this place for dine in (beautiful atmosphere) and takeout orders. Thanks to Alihan's for saving me today and helping to stay fit and healthy See More

This was the second time my friends and I ate at Alihan's before going to the Benedum for a show. The food is awesome. We love the grilled veggies and the Chef Borek is to-die-for! My lamb shish kabob... was so tender and perfectly seasoned, it tasted like filet mignon. The rice pilaf was also excellent. The side salad was disappointing - a better dressing is needed - tasted very bland. We also like the reasonable prices and the BYOB option. Overall, I give Alihan's a 4.8/5.0 rating and will definitely return. See More

Yesterday was our second visit. The service is fantastic and the food delicious. The tapenade is my favorite. The lamb is perfectly seasoned. The carmel cream dessert is the best I've ever eaten. We w...ill be returning. My son is a coffee nut. He loves their Turkish coffee. See More

Nope! We won't be back. The waitress (Kelly) was very sweet but that's where the good experience ends. Plain and simple the food was just bad. We eat out quite frequently and as an airline family that... enjoys the Mediterranean it was most disappointing. Two of the three meals were sent back and the manager never showed any interest as to why. I guess that is why the food was bad no interest in feedback.
If you are interested in great Greek food and don't mind paying less, zip across the street to Salonika! It's very casual but the food is awesome there and will remind you of Greece!

My husband and I dined here last night. We were warmly greeted and were seated at a table.(We made a reservation which I highly recommend). The ambiance is warm, friendly and clean. We ordered the g...rape leaves and hummus for appetizers. Both were delicious! For our entree we got the mixed kabobs which is a meal for two. Everything was amazing. All the meats were tender, seasoned well and cooked to perfection. It's a great meal to try their different meats. Our waiter Marcello could not have been more attentive and hospitable to us. We will absolutely return the next time we go into town for a show! See More

We arrived before a show on a Wednesday night; around 5:30-6 pm. They weren't overly busy but had a respectable crowd for downtown.
After being seated our server promptly introduced himself; nametag ...and all! (Major plus for me, as I always have trouble with new people's names.) He took our drink order and returned for our food order; to which we placed our dining fates in his hands and let him decide.
Boy was that the right choice! He ordered the Appetizer Sampler (enough for two) for starters; grape leaves, charred eggplant, hummus, tabbouleh (A+++), cucumber slices and tomato wedges. Phenomenal!
For our entrees he ordered the Kabob Platter (Sampler) I never knew there were so many different kinds of skewered meats! It wasn't so much the species variety but the preparations. For instance; the lamb cubes were lightly seasoned and the lamb flavor came through beautifully, the gyro meat was a delicious blend of spices and meats I've rarely seen done so deliberately, and yet there was still a lamb patty kabob, and a lamb "loaf" kabob as well as three different chicken options AND a lamb chop. Enough for two?! Enough for four really; but we are almost everything and had to try desserts.
Man oh man am I glad we did! We had their house made Tiramisu (great presentation & taste) but I cannot rave enough about their traditional dish named "Kunefe". If you're a fan of cheese such as I am; you HAVE to try this dessert. The best way to describe it is with what their menu describes it: "Homemade, oven baked angel hair dough with fresh mozzarella, butter and house syrup. Topped with walnuts. (Optional)." It does take 15-20 minutes but OMG it is worth every freaking minute. I wanted to take it with me to the show; run up on stage and tell the whole theater they needed to eat this! Wonderful food, great service, pleasant music, and that dessert will have me back for more!

It was an AMAZING experience. You open the door, walk in, and after the door closes, all of a sudden the atmosphere changes. Its so calm and peaceful and the decor and tableware is absolutely beautifu...l. Our waiter was so humble and very helpful. And when our food came, it looked like it could have been in a magazine. Wonderful experience! Would definitely go back again :)! The phrase on their wall says, "Everyone is family gathering at our table", and they just gained 4 new family members :)! GREAT JOB Alihan's! I had a fantastic dinner at Alihan's last night. The lamb kabobs were amazing. Our server was very helpful with entree recommendations.
Great place to go if you're downtown before/after a show or a game.

Still our favorite in Pittsburgh. Mixed kebab is the way to go and share it with your significant other because you can not finish it alone. They offer a free glass of wine with any entree if you to bring your own bottle. Then top it off with kunefe and some Turkish tea or coffee. See More

We went there yesterday before seeing Evita at the Bennedum and I must say that was the worst Mediterranean food I have ever had. Let's start with the appetizers - the Hummus tasted like nothing no f...lavor whatsoever, the grape leaves were absolute mush like they came from a can and had been sitting in water for days. On to the main course, we ordered the shrimp and lobster ravioli - shrimp was way overcooked and hard as a rock not to mention it had a very strong smell as if it were spoiled or very old. When we told the waitress she basically shrugged her shoulders so we asked for another skewer - they came back almost raw and did not have any seasoning or sauce like the first ones. But had that same very fishy smell. We tried to eat some of our meal but decided to just take it home and maybe recook it to be edible. We decided to tell our waitress that the food was horrible she did absolutely nothing and came back with boxes and our check. I cannot express how dissapointed we were with the food, the service and their lack of concern by not even coming to our table to see what was wrong. I would not go back there if it was free.
