Pancake day today, and then Lent begins. Our Ash Weds service starts st 7.30pm at All Saints. So Lent! It’s not necessarily a time to give something up; could it be a time to take something up during Lent that will make a difference?

Last chance saloon: 1st Dec sees our sponsored Advent Sleepover to raise funds to combat holiday hunger in inner London - please help us! PLEASE READ ON! 161,000 children in London rely on free school meals, and for many it’s their only meal. When school stops for holidays, so do those meals. Many of them either don’t eat enough or don’t have a well-balanced diet when they’re not at school, and a third of their parents skip meals during school holidays so their children can eat. Holiday Hunger projects provide meals for those families during school holidays. As we approach a season when many of us will eat a lot, please help the Guides, Scouts and church support families in London who don’t have enough income to eat enough during school holidays. Thank you.
Sadly today we said farewell to the Revd Jo Jones, our parish priest. She leaves a significant legacy and will be missed by many in and around the parishes of Writtle, Roxwell and Highwood.
She and Keith go to the next chapter in lives with both our gratitude and prayers for what God has in store for her ministry.
Yesterday we all celebrated with Oyinkan, Oyinda, Claire and Eleanor as they proclaimed their faith and were welcomed as fully fledged members of the Christian Church. Thanks to Bishop Stephen for a wonderful service, and to the Rev’d Jo and Fr Tom for supporting them in their Christian journey.
Please donate generously for holiday hunger.
