Great little ski area with a lot of STEEP terrain and a huge backcountry. Sometimes there's big lines, but often you can get right on the lift. Good bar, great bad-for-you pizzas, and always a spot sit. It's also a good place to park for snow shoeing, hiking, and backcountry skiing. Stay out of the closed areas and obey the signs - the terrain is serious, the snow is deep and the avalanche danger is real after a big dump. See More

Management does a such a poor job at this ski area. I ski chair 2 and have frequently toured the backcountry here, but why they do such a poor job grooming on the intermediate blue runs is beyond bel...ief. Really, 10 ft wide groomed strips on main runs? $79 per day. This does not happen at Stevens, Crystal and Mission Ridge. See More

When life gives you lemons, throw them in the trash and catch first chair at Alpy.

Alpental is love, Alpental is life. Esp. when the back bowl gates are open and conditions are dreamy. Nothing but re...spect for those who shovel the ramps, ensure guests' safety and shuttle us from the Source Lake Uphill Dog Park TH to the other side of Lot 4 when it's muddy. Friendly employees, good service and only a minuscule amount of ridicule from the locals and ski school. SINGLE?! See More

Ok, (50 characters.....?), love the vibe of this place! Skied here a handful of times and seriously think this mountain has a lot to offer. Off the top not got the meek. Powder days here are the bomb!... Go there, you'll be glad you did! Oh! Forgot to mention the bar...go there too! 😀 See More

Didn't open bottom list till 9:15 then chair #2 not until 10am. Couldnt believe how many people were smoking cigarettes in the lift line and then throwing their butts on the ground. I suggest you don...'t allow smoking in lift lines. I won't be back anytime soon. See More

A fantastic whole mountain experience, especially for a small commuter mountain ski area. Great slopes & off-piste is truly amazing. If you are aligned to the inbound areas, 2017 groomers are doing unbelievable job. For those spending the night, simply the best around. See More

I grew up riding Alpental from when I was a kid, I am 37 years old now and I still love that mountain and get a rush every time I come down International face and ride in the back country.

For them to put a park in there was huge. Probably the best spring riding ever at Alpy. 😀

Cinco de Mayo was off the hook as usuall. What an amazing day!!
From 5am to 3pm today 13" of pow stacked at the bottom of Alpental, on top of the 8" that came overnight. Meanwhile, at the top of the mountain over 25" of pow piled up since 5pm yesterday. As you could imagine, the storm riding today was all-time, with never ending pow turns and perma-grins galore for those lucky souls that made it to the mountain or were already here.
Quick Summit East update...
Job Fair at Summit West tomorrow! Among other perks, you'll get to ski/ride the newly expanded Summit East...check out today's video below.

A little spring cruise under beautiful sunny skies today.

The grooming team has been covering a lot of terrain lately, laying corduroy all the way up to Gunmount and well into Edelweiss Bowl.

18" in the last 24 hours at the top!

Temps didn't behave at base elevation last night so today isn't going to be as high quality as powder Tuesday, but it's still going to be deep and fun! Recap of Tuesday's glory from Snow Troopers:

This is "2018.03.06 Alpental, WA, Phat and Sunny" by The Snow Troopers on Vimeo, the home for high quality videos and the people who love them.

It's been snowing hard like this all day, which means night skiing might be a lot of fun this evening (fingers crossed it keeps snowing). It also means increasing avalanche hazard on the upper mountain, so we're planning to close Chair 2 a little early at 3pm today.

5-6" of fresh and still stacking. Tomorrow is Alpental's last night of the season, so take advantage!

We plan to close the Edelweiss side of upper mountain at 2pm for cornice control work above Edelweiss and Powder Bowls. Please be aware that during the closure Upper International will be the only way down. Sorry for the inconvenience. We hope to reopen that side of the mountain today once the work is completed.

Who's ready for another bluebird pow day?! Come get it!

This pow cycle has been incredible! Nearly 100" of snow has fallen at the base in the last two and a half weeks, and almost 120" at the top.
