My grandpa has been reunited with the love of his life in Heaven. He passed away unexpectedly yesterday. I was so blessed to have both my grandparents in my life for so long and I know he is in Heaven with his two favorite people, Jesus and my grandma Bonnie. While we will miss him dearly, I am comforted to know he is right where he wants to be. As I think of all the great memories I have, I thought I would share the cake and cookies I made him for his last two birthdays. I remember my grandma trying to save the topper to this cake and my grandpa not wanting to eat the cookies because they looked so good. Love those two and so happy they have been reunited. Take care and let the people in your life know you love them, he sure knew how much I did! :)
So...right now in my house the Team Keegan fundraiser is all the talk. There are so many details that go into something like this that my kids hear about it daily. Most recently my youngest daughter (age 5) has been doing a phenomenal job at promoting "mommy's fundraiser" by prompting me everywhere we go to tell whoever I cross paths with about my fundraiser. So far she has called me out to the Kinkos guy, the librarian, a Charlotte Russe employee (I love their jeans!) and the lady that works at Auntie Anne's. You would have thought I paid her, she is doing a fantastic job, lol. She just looks up at me and says, "Maybe you should tell her (or him) about your fundraiser." Little does she know, it isn't really Mommy's comfort zone to put herself out there... but she is 5 and doesn't seem to mind putting me on the spot. I am telling you all this because she just took a video on her brother's inactive phone about 20 minutes ago - with no prompting from mom whatsoever - and my other daughter brought it to me. This is what she had to say. Out of the mouths of babes... It is a dark and grainy video because she is 5 and didn't have the light on in her room when she took it, and she also has a dress-up witches hat on. But it isn't about what you can't see, it's about what you can hear. It is important that my kids see me doing something for others, and it has been confirmed that they do pay attention to what I say. :) I hope this touches your heart the same way it touched mine.
