Want a "fun" weekend challenge?

Try decluttering 100 things from your home -- I think you'll be surprised how quick and easy this might be!

You might look around at your house, your garage, your office, or your closet, and wonder how things got so bad, what your first steps of action should be, where you should start, or how you will ever finish.

So Many More Strollers (+ our current favorite)

Exactly 5 year ago, I shared this post about our favorite strollers. At the time, we only had one child, but I had already tried out close to a dozen different strollers -- buying and selling them on Craigslist (and often making a profit in the process!)

Well, 5 years and 3 more babies later, we have an entirely new line-up of strollers... that's what I'm sharing more about today!

Last week, I told Nora and Simon they could each pick something special for their last day of school...
Nora said she'd like a party with all the girls in her class (not happening) or a pizza party for her entire class (also not happening).
Simon simply wanted a "blue Chase card"... and that's what he got today after his last day of preschool at our local early childhood center.
The Pez dispenser was a last-minute addition that he was thrilled with.
Nora still has a couple weeks to contemplate her options!

When (Some) Busyness Leads to (Mostly) Simple

Over the years, I have shared many of tips and tricks for simple living, decluttering, time management, and organization. I've also made it very clear that simple living is not always EASY. It requires hard work, dedication, and perseverance -- trusting that those busy periods of life will eventually lead to simpler times.

Are you in a very busy period of life? If so, don't feel guilty or like you're doing everything wrong. Read today's post and hopefully breathe a sigh of relief!

Fire Roasted Tomato and Vegetable Soup

Even though the weather is warming up and we're verging on summer vacation (only TWO more weeks of school for Dave!!!) I still keep soup on regular rotation in our weekly meal plans.

Today's 20-minute soup recipe is a great way to work a few extra veggies into a meal, as you can use whatever you have in the fridge that your family will eat!

How I Store and Organize Spices and Seasonings

When we renovated our kitchen several years ago, we had a little space to play with on the wall with our stove. We decided to install a tiny pull-out spice cabinet and wow, have we gotten our use out of that small space!

Today, after many years, I'm finally sharing my very simple method of storing and organizing our spices and seasonings.

I'm sure you've heard all about the amazingness of having a minimalistic capsule wardrobe... right??

I will agree that a mostly-capsule wardrobe has been VERY beneficial for me (everything goes with everything else) BUT as I share in this post, my wardrobe definitely is not minimalistic (and I'm OK with that!)

I usually bypass answering most of these questions by simply stating something like, “I don’t have a capsule wardrobe, but I think the concept is really fabulous. Be sure to check Pinterest for more ideas to create your own capsule wardrobe.”

Whatever change you're hopping to see in your life, I can almost guarantee you'll see better, longer-lasting, more sustainable results if you GO SLOW!

I've made several major changes in my life over the past 12 years... and surprisingly they haven't felt overwhelming, thanks to the fact that I implemented the changes a little at a time over several years!

I like to take my time, go slowly, and make gradual changes over time — which, it so happens, is often the most sustainable way to make changes (at least in my exerpeince).

I made bite-size cheesecakes for one of our Mother's Day desserts this past weekend.
Not only did they taste great, they were super easy to make, and held up well!
I simply poured my cheesecake filling into greased mini muffin tins (no crust), baked them at 350ºF for roughly 18 minutes, and topped with whipped cream, berries, and chocolate.
Oh, and if you want to use a crust, you could use a mini vanilla wafer or mini Oreo!

Did you see that I gave Aldi grocery stores another try... and I actually don't hate shopping there anymore!!!!

Anyone who has read my blog for any amount of time knows my undying devotion to Meijer grocery stores… as well as the fact that I’ve never been a huge fan of Aldi grocery stores (for many reasons).

For those of you cleaning up your home after a busy weekend

In general, I truly do not mind cleaning. It’s not my most favorite activity ever, but it’s not my least-favorite either.

A Peek Into Our Week

Don't Take It For Granted

As the little girl who ALWAYS dreamed of the day I would move into my very own home, I certainly underestimated how much work it would be to care for a home and yard -- not to mention the amount of effort required to care for the family who now lives in the home and plays in the yard!

Some days, it feels downright impossible to fit everything in... but today (and moving forward) my goal is simply not to take any of it for granted.
