- Andy was invited to perform and to host a jam for the 2014 Americans for the Arts convention. He brought in Kenny Malone, "Drumming with your Hands", Craig Fletcher, and Jeremy Shearer for the band, played a set, then opened it up for the arts administrators to join in. A talented bunch, as you might imagine! — bij The Omni Hotel.

Hope you all enjoy this!- Over the last couple of years, some fine writers and singers that I know have been asking me if I would get back into producing recording projects, and produce their music in the studio. I've decided to say, "Yes!!" and to put on my producer hat once again. Sessions are starting here in Nashville next week with some wonderful folks on the calendar, and are continuing through the summer and beyond. Let the music begin!

This album covers Friday, Saturday, and a taste of the trip home on Sunday.
After a somewhat mercurial start, the weather settled down nicely for the last half of the festival.... Friday was still a bit damp, but it was a plumb gorgeous weekend! Perfect, actually, for an outdoor festival!
In addition to the Acoustic Kids Workshops (with Andy May) on Friday and Saturday mornings, Andy had a Stage 3 set on Friday, then a Stage 4 set Saturday afternoon to close out his 2013 Walnut Valley Festival. The Saturday set turned into a celebration, as Andy had some special guests join him on stage: Thanks to Brent Hawley, Songwriting Workshop participant Rex Vance, and "Acoustic Kid" Ethan Setiawan for their contributions! The set was filmed by Legleiter Video Productions L.L.C., and we'll let you know when DVDs are available! (Almost like being there!)
We packed it up Sunday morning and headed home, after a rather leisurely morning of farewells and loading the car. (I wish I'd gotten a picture of how much stuff went into our little econo-car! I had my doubts at one point, but it all fit eventually!) Having taken the northern route out, through Kentucky, Missouri and eastern Kansas, we took the southern route home, through Oklahoma, Arkansas and western TN. It was inspiring, all those wide-open spaces on such a lovely day! I snapped a couple of pictures when we stopped for gas or food... or trains... and a few in between.
