We have accessible and affordable mental health care and uh understanding that we as leaders Or policy makers need to be able to hear from the vote and the impact it makes and I think in this time we seen it trying to make this a philosophical discussion are trying to make of how much government should be involved with this takes away from the Central piece of this that healthcare is at the Center of people's lives to help in the back piece of it is going to require here in those stories and and working together as Minnesota is doing his painting and I have been talking about for a long time. We want together, one Minnesota. We find when we use the resources that we have here This is the state that will cover every single person with affordable healthcare that You of the politicians to do that Minnesota care by him, but this is escape it doesn't because we're often saying now hear the future. We create a future in the state, so don't vote your dot this is the same as not only people coming for insurance. Uh congressman tim, walz um okay very good it's really great uh and uh. You know we spent uh almost uh the last year traveling around the state um listening to folks and I have to say that this is a number one issue I got here No matter where we go across the state of Minnesota and we know that we need to um learn more both have access to coverage. Um as me and he said um you know, getting that bill in the mail or healthcare. It shouldn't be a person that you want everybody to have access and I have a little uh. We have weights um for folks coming out on the course developed and make sure healthcare and heart of the future of our health is not a conversation about health insurance um Have a good k and I just wanted a little bit about um just my own experience where health care. I. Um. I also inspired to mind and it talked about my school and move into community the pleasure of representing the picture. Uh. I mean there with my mom and I used to be a sexually Go oh my goodness, um and you know I have severe So I am here investments and um just before school started in September. Um. I appreciate the all of your special day um and we come together out So enough room for loss uh. We, wanna hear um from the folks up here in so, if you could, please just see your knee um the bed and then I just share customers will start over here. We're gonna go down online um. Some for being a ceo, so The positions and using addition are dedicated k here and instead of value that access to pull out here and then all Minnesota okay. So spent that He's candidates okay so we, wanna make sure that all Um so I'm delighted to be here our supports to see you access, produce barriers to here and here I also personally I'm gonna be the spouse of someone who was diagnosed with a condition is it community football or actions of his own. So ensuring access to My name is Morris has been um on my story about my son. I lost six years ago to operate uh epidemic. The crime you didn't know that they have the best plan. Uh Houston on the 30 year old man like to um truly um. I can tell you that uh we try to get it there Rated top of that he was in stable it's uh that's something that we'll never be over. Uh to your life. Like that there's already in time, we become a different. I don't think really love alright um and so one thing that came up with the Congress meant for that. I'm eating really soft that was uh going to go after are healthy and it's Ryan definitely I would school That's a very good thing to do because and face And so I've been writing to incompetence of picking this beautiful sunglasses for the part of all of us. The last two years and I can tell you that after all that to fall into this class and we promise to practice staff and becoming a brief uh promised by the staff and the chance to talk about my health uh concern and uh to the studio I'm not the project um. I followed them around with The camp town halls across some sort of none investing population and ice cold outside to Paul, where they will have you seen in legend chest driver is opportunities and all that I was there and that I have put a ticket right and turned out and I love pain so for me to health care of issues to get the all-star blues that will take away to health care that so many people have your that just been uh Oh my God birth and that kate we are trying to Uh anyway, um I'm along by um really great um for boys and girl and we have um uh. We have to change the and you didn't answer okay okay. Oh I left the store um let's go People and things not all so if you up with your eyes with your regular places, um Harbor, uh, your feeling um and three things like you're going to um material mental and even better in and you know, dumb because it back at the My oldest son you, gotta more um that my team and I should have been the crazy and no, no, not my dad and have the same uh because you know um 61 dying I live in that um okay nicolo happy second to show you guys make sure you go and I have to happen and what that would do. You. My 16 Yeah three that uh he has classes for school straight, but the other so that puts him at a higher risk. You know, for the family and you know what Um you know it's just a question I know right, you know there's things that my kids have never been contact for definitely for the happy I think another day that's okay. You know, one of my good here right and what might be that, as it a boulder on the home and they have to find the truth that they may not be able to k and that you know it's And this is not what you know and you know It's like you know, and you know it's not and economic this is that my husband, all the These are the plans that he has for the next 30 days. 60 days so I came to Hello everyone, my name is Robert and 22 years old and I was diagnosed that suspension that's one now are just no better man, just landed a full-time job that I thought I was available to long island diagnosed. I was knowledge is beautiful moments, doctors helps me back and forth so they did a ct scan. They found the trainer anna to death and memories with your so it's very important that we go through I'm on vacation and foremost human treatments, but we do it all the time. I wasn't quite full time at the coffee kids and say this so, even though I was on bed for a little while I still got insurance now my treatments and in 20 17 so I went back to work and I just have to say about 70 pounds and then I love to hear that and I was without insurance at home, some more Christmas Remember if you like, struggled to get back out I'm like no I'd, I don't have the money before now. So it's been almost nothing for schools and it was on medical assistance from and it's been support for him. Now I have priority so one thing that to me is, I felt on your movement and that's my side. I wouldn't stop it normal healthcare so I got everything done. I just said that is amazing, but it's not that it's just that I was looking for safe inside and it's gonna have to tell your friends about this because they don't know what you're going through this Everything is gonna be looking around and that's a fight. I have ago it's just were not the same time try to handle the insurance and home. I healthcare providers to tell them that I choose insurance and it doesn't know how to make all these adults it's about that. It's just been required to go through this one classes of cancer and having the right now okay so we're against your care But I schools, for a little draw so I'm gonna squat and I know that's go okay okay. Yeah. What's adults that okay my name is hands on come and uh hi I'm a cancer advocate I lost my dad to cancer and your boy girlfriend premieres and it was so frustrating that I cannot and ready to help pay for the cancer is uh from over here um Iga just over the way that I can play that and then I didn't say that alot of President um walls no reason like reason, funding and we've got a thing that our state like. How care we've been a lot of thing. Um and this is that's why I wanted the voice heard you know it's like it yeah yeah passed away. They always in my best friend lisa here the items with dinosaur presents each 30 it's best that morning and a 20 and so I just gonna voice um. I want to mentor votes which is just this post, as I can to make sure that you, like USA basically read why it doesn't matter whether I don't care. I just know that it matters to all of us when it was diagnose. Uh okay. Thank you for that. She was able to get great here because we live in a state that does have some lazy uh facilities um one of the things they're basically, it was a mother and it was my love conversations of my life I'm pretty much never gonna get over two years, jobs because now I have a breast cancer. I'm gonna have to stay in this job. This is a good job. How do I know this job. The other one so we years um and I spend all the past. These protection in the place and also has the flexibility of being able to use over she wants not necessarily because whether insurance is that she has once you make that another family doesn't have a kind of a I decided to in the kitchen and let me tell you that this is absolutely um and then also mean I think how it's like you know, I medicaid and I think you know it's like right to work that's ridiculous. She comes to cancer is collection stay healthy really want a perfectly that they're gonna be able to stay in that and he knows the things that matter cleaning catch my friends matter Minnesota and I'm here to make sure that everybody I'm on a home You are passing around the room um card so if you have a question or a catalyst for, for the still crazy to ask your question here brand new educator will bring you more. Let's. Let's go open. It um. Let me go first part of the problem is when we focus on healthcare cost price and availability of lifestyle face when you're election I, like to call it what it is water to her steps. You can take to address serious pharma problem well, you know I I want to answer this question so badly. First, but I want to let you go first. That's uh 60 together. Well, first, I'd like to say, if you've heard this in our purpose of this is again, people pay attention, whatever you say, no, they get tired of it that's a campaign should be the opportunities that elevate this. This healthcare discussion better than ever get too far from what you just heard here that's what the discussion is about and any scaring us about uh it's gonna be a government takeover if you don't have insurance, you don't get a job. We taking over insurance, it doesn't needed that Distracts us from the real issues on this and the pharma issue is the one that really challenges people and I'm gonna be very excited about this farm is not big tobacco. They are producing things to save our life. Many of these we have to have access to what they're making, but when that becomes the knowing that we are a captive audience. Those who keep wanting to talk about the market. You have no market that is for life saving club. We need and they can raise that price as much as they want. Some concrete steps. We can do it. We get it in Congress to make sure If there's gonna be a change of more than 10 percent on drug prices that those who published ahead of time and then the discussion happened. I don't know if you saw this this is the kind of stuff that it's very difficult when there's so much out there to try and track that in the reason to she Asian of now that pharmaceutical companies, one day they wanna exclusions against generics and price to come down and gave them another 10 years of exclusive nissan, their drugs that are going to drive a prize and that happened at night and basically in the Middle of everything, so This issue of making sure that I need to come back to this on price transparency on services priced transparency on drug making sure that we, as a state, I think, as a nation, we have got to win this plan. This is that intersection can stay because I'm not Medicare and medicaid of the system hundred 10 much of what we do um and I have seen injustice and just as simple as what we do at the by poll, purchasing the pharmaceutical drives the price down on those formulas massively and why we're not doing that Medicare Making sure that happens and so first thing is trying to get the discoveries bring those folks and again I'm just gonna call it out again and I say this because you know the pain to do their life choices and there's. Nothing any of us can say that we're gonna make that in better but we're trying to tackle this, you know it's gonna take money to do that and instead of being partners with the last year, they deploy 28 lobbyist for the pressure on people when we were simply asking for a way to help fun. We were not even, I think that human is a Let me send you a part of this be part of the solution. Instead of using that the political clout and brought the hammer down and now we don't have the money to do that. Uh those are things you can do here this is uh really personal issue to me as well as I think about the that actually have responsibility for four years of my career at saint jude, for the health plan at saint cute and so I had eighteen thousand us covered lives in our health Center and I had to actually sign the checks that required to pay for that help. you Self insurance and I also have responsibility outside the United States of my team for uh cost when you pay in Canada and Germany and France and other health care systems that I can tell you that that experience left me with a civil that Americans are paying too much for the care. We are paying too much and so part of the prescription drug battle right to mention this part of it is why is the biggest Health system in America not negotiating for prescriptions well, mental. Why are you saying why are we allowing and strengthening trade agreement brand name drug companies ability to pay for the lend of generic providers. You know that only 10 percent of prescription drugs in this country 10 percent of the actual peerless old cause 70 percent of the dollars. Why is that, because brand names like awesome the biggest Driver cost and potentially medical plan Lewis across the, especially drugs and compounding class. You think just regular formula drugs are expensive and you just wait to see what they're charging health plans this is not don't here is not just the issue um individual marketplace it's not just about you or getting another diet plan Americans employers are paying too much for their healthcare and that's where Americans are coming race by because business is what having to just try to keep up one of the reasons to make the cost of health care and so we're gonna have to Because it's a very, very special interest in this country we're gonna, have to take a moment and instead 28 God is standing up against handing out campaign. Cash to my opponent. He does and a million dollars about half of his campaign contributions and this is what we have come for all the special places class Catholic halfway, so we have got to get serious about this video iphone Mark and julie. His wife tell the story the board out there so um and what I'll tell Issues and some of you have seen ads with my son, josh she's, almost 21 years old the ads are these pursuing advance. Manufacturing degree, um but josh is adopted and his birth mom died of so I have community of my son that every bad breath in the body that I am doing the world not just the medical therapy that he is once you create a chip, but why are America and new Zealand the largest opioid addicts in the world online is that directed consumer In this one we have got to give it this in a very holistic back to fashion in this country. Again and you better that. I'm gonna back out of it Um that's what you actually get to where you can see what are your plans for stopping the loss of hospitals and healthcare services. Many folks have to drive more than a hour to access necessary care. Um you know, having jump in the morning answering the question. I just answered quickly, but I think one of the best investments you can make in this country is high speed Internet and that maybe an odd answer to this question. What is not, if you wanna create remote health monitoring, remote health Center if there's some really interesting model is very important My care of you right now, when they're putting a nurse practitioner and in the Middle of greater Minnesota communities and as long as you have hi skincare and technology than you can blink right up right there with the best practitioner with your cardiac specialist here in the city. So we've got to open our minds about how we provide health care in this country um. You know uh hospitals like a little bit of money to hire their fellows right uh doctors in training uh. We should pay them more than willing to put in rural areas of You tell us, especially the position and awesome yeah. I have the risk of blowing Minnesota. You something that you thought that somebody else pumped up for you and it was really hard on this issue up aligning uh electronic medical records to the in the because the physicians and you know the electronic medical record of the diagnostic your powerful way to uh to provide care, disability also, advise, be brought and use that for everything that fell free to promote elephant That they really now for referrals that he's getting the answer and other things in the court a lot of money and uh Association felt like he's just honored for that work. It wasn't the honor to building this coalition to make this happen and, let's all be very quick position. Healthcare and consolidation becomes very, very emotional. It becomes very much of the core of our communities and the one is very clear. It is an album with a decision was made by the man penny. Can do some services uh lost and 20 miles away uh in that situation, one of the biggest single day Absolutely health care is one thing that I was going through at that time with a male clinic making the right financial, economic activity gone patient safety is something that going to make those decisions. Life is safe and the community was on in that you're, not know why. Because you may uh the city of 27 20000 people in our in addition to never have another child born, that is something that is unprecedented in any both with lives and I think the medical Association maybe have some some ideas on the driver's license and inviting and I think it our senator or representative here in the things of the, that Today is a link to the medical student going to take advantage of the program from Minnesota wants to stay here at the incentive is that we pay back some of our students involved in their medical school to take a job in a little community. Exactly that that's the role of workout with a new set of eyes and health and let that you want this is going to be and I think all of us need to be prepared for this. This idea that these things to come upon us and then we're like oh, you wouldn't know how we especially to get of this precision of movement and Martin, had to say there's, not in two thousand seven. We did And management on the floor we're experts in the field is expected to be able to handle ourselves in situations that they're gonna get the seven and so the idea for you sign years after that, because we get a lot of times that and so we can't wait to close and access to the back one that healthcare positions we have to eat, bad place okay yeah. Thank you very much the production So I need to make that it's a complex issue, a lot of you like a free, that I think coming live and think about this. Everything all because I have access Internet across the state and you need to be the man. I think the reason that the whole House and also because of course, you need to make sure that their mistakes and this is an positions from her hair And look good the right here happening and bask in my kitchen, bringing a creative people. Minnesota is actually an state okay. Most awesome As an older service without clean running yourself so when you show up this morning with a donation of this okay want to figure out how to make this stain the floor so this is in the hospital grandmother. Then I know people put on the unnecessary services theirs away. It's like a it's, a little health issues and I'm so glad that yesterday I think they will need some it's not a medical school in that okay it's not about side um and help Okay, thank you all too housing, um that a affordable place to live with you. Thank you for doing this. Okay um. You know that have got right 45 to bring your time Care and our two for five days and that in Florida and so um, this is one of the about healthcare. We care really okay strategy for a accessibility. It hopefully next, I'm gonna do allow up to a half hours. Okay. I told we've got a five 10 minutes so what I would have really going to do is maybe just come back to some of the animals. We had to talk a lot and tell us what you want us at the state and federal level for any focusing more give us what you want us to coming North Um, I can start in the state level. Um so if you, as well squeeze it, uh question are we have every time that I can show that comes on the Nations that we're working on the back home. Um so we know that 95 percent of people started to anyone so I was taking one eighty seven 21 13 communities in this one. I have already done that looks like open I hate in that I am for my faces southern part of the state, um. I want the state line. I wanted because all of our kids not just that um and I don't know where to get better unless we get stay on and also we don't have any funding for tobacco cessation and education. After 20 so this is really confident in you need to figure out that for the that is helping with that you need to figure out how to get those services backyard state um 30 and we'll be there. Healthcare access. one And then it has color. We going to get that one from family. Um. I would say uh with the laser um and also we actually have the tools to completely renovate a bottle and so um at the research is so important in the brain child of God knows what is found in face 14 that was 20 months right now. I asked your doctor's okay Right a lot of characters over 70 something difference, something for years ago. It doesn't know care that the things that are good I think he has a contract um and the um of the body cost from the last of course of medication for uh three 30 and one important thing that Down his father got and buy the after he got something discount and that is my thing making clean about eighty five dollars a month and I And that's pretty good athlete and you get it done within a non medicated valentines day. That's reality right. There that's the decision that's. What happens when you so that person by zip code is that separates. You don't need to be able to get that. I really come k And my sister and thing getting in not under eighteen pregnant for forever. Thank you When you cast your vote in Congress it's not pushing the button so that opportunity dedicated expansion each day. So it's important to and they push the button to say no. So I bring that up. It again. I can't stress enough. I watch this happening for these folks up here. These are not the radical political games. You need to make the best. I mean the bathrooms only very, very personal in that decision that God so that we have a And yeah well couple um goal not going alright and 40000 people came for a whole back to one year. So these are people that Okay go back that really the other thing of you know. Care for loss program and all the Okay just let me say that uh You could certainly preservation at fixing and together locally and you share that with You think that communities and a place everything you some of that Um and if I have to say you know that when you see a doctor other professionally represents probably 20 percent of how I want to have your health is a and investments and conventional safer schools, streets see That so, I am so appreciate you. Uh that I wanna do this and florence with us. I'm going there um and as we were talking about and sharing uh these vision with all of you, uh, we know um next month it's gonna put um to up protecting your hair that you expanding anywhere between Um comment here I see that you got to come Um no working uh you're struggling and this is the to uh the wear your jacket. This notion that some people are and some people are out. Um. We believe that everybody needs to have access to to help here. I am looking a black here mom and uh. I believe that um our family so that um to Thank you Now krista and I would ask for everything that this does not have in addition to the issue of a nice. This is an issue that this should be the issues that results in that car in the record is out. There again, I wanna say a little thing it's always about people buy so grateful for all time and what you say doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. If you are involve in this and I'm not at a time and uh today maybe That in the clinical and watch little passports with a veteran South of us, um that's not about about including eyes about finding those with the media. Okay we'll see the opportunity here with us. I just wanna end this is only the start conversation we just getting started we're just getting started in this congressional district and we're just getting started Actually that sometimes comes from every single American has quality, affordable health care for over 20 time and I refuse. I reject the premise that he has has to be about Organization and used to believe that you can't work together. This event and we send more people in Congress who refused to take that as an answer and I think we have a lot of Congress in the future so thank you for being here it's a kind of privilege. It will life's work Help us fix healthcare should I have to do something. This Christmas so, thank you so much
