Aguila del Graf Spee. Se resuelve su destino?
TODAY was the DAY! July 20th 1985; At 1:05 p.m. that amazing day, Mel Fisher learned from his son Kane that his dreams came true. The marine radio crackled to l...ife in the Key West, Florida office of Mel Fisher at Treasure Salvors, Inc. "WZG9605. Unit 1, this is Unit 11." From aboard the vessel Dauntless of which he was captain, Kane told his beaming father: "Put away the charts. We've got the 'Mother Lode'!"
The dream that inspired Mel Fisher for more than 16 years came true before the eyes of the world. He found the "rainbow's end" including thousands of artifacts, silver coins, gold coins, many in near mint condition, period and earlier amazing Spanish objects and wares, exquisite jewelry set with precious stones, gold chains, disks, a variety of armaments and even seeds (which later sprouted!).This discovery by Mel Fisher and his "Golden Crew" reflected the richest treasure find since the opening of King Tut's tomb in the 1930s. Happy 32nd Anniversary to all the brave men and women involved!
Today we also honor those who were lost in the search for the Atocha. On July 20,1975, the Northwind capsized while searching for the Atocha, with Rick Gage, Dirk Fisher and Angel Fisher onboard.
Always follow your dreams and never give up, just like Mel! Celebrate with an adventure of your own today, what will it be?

In October of 2014, the Dare returned from a trip to the Atocha site with what conservators and archaeologists believed to be a wooden bed post from the Atocha....The post was found deep in the mud where it was protected from the oxygenated water and high-energy environment that otherwise would have caused it to erode. After over 2 years of conservation, here is the bedpost! It will be kept in a temperature controlled custom case.
