So good! Always makes me miss Hawaii. If you want an authentic tasting plate lunch then this is your place. The mac salad is delicious, just creamy enough. The "Broke da Mouth" teriyaki sauce is incre...dible; deliciously tangy with just enough sweet to balance it out. The meat is cooked on some sort of grill and the char marks really add something. They always garnish with green onions and sesame seeds which add a nice finish to the sauce. See More

My partner and I showed up about 7:30pm on a soaking wet Friday night. The lighting and warmth of the place drew us in. Being newbs, we asked how the process went; told to order off the chalk board, a...nd take a seat of our choice. This is a very casual restaurant with cement floor, and wooden not-super-comfy chairs. The decor is kind of kitchy Hawaiian.. colorful, and friendly. The staff also is colorful and friendly. Ready to help you make your right choice by explaining ingredients, and what comes on the plate... I ordered the Kalua pork with green salad.. if this sounds boring: NOPE. Frikken Delicious! I'm trying to stick to my low carb lifestyle, and forgot to ask for no rice.. well the rice is abundant on the plate. The salad was very simple; just crisp, cold, fresh iceberg in chunky big bites, with some carrots on top. Let me tell you about this AMAZING salad dressing.. I have no idea what the ingredients are, but I'll describe: Sort of like Thousand but with a super flavorful kick; sweet, and tangy and so damn good. I asked for a second bit of this dressing. So happy! Now the pork: I WILL be back. And I WILL get this pork again.. tender, meaty, so danged satisfying.. Oh dear LORD, Gimme the pork of my dreams, and yep. This is IT! Ate-Oh-Ate makes in-house sauces. I foregot the name of the pork sauce served in a squeeze bottle. This sauce pairs perfectly with the pork. Not too sweet, and not too hot (I don't do super spicey), this sauce is just the thing. The pork is moist and doesn't really need saucing up. But hey. They went to the trouble of MAKING it; SQUEEZE it. Having skipped the rice, I was still tummy-satisfied, and filled to the brim. Didn't miss the white rice one bit. Staff was busy buzzing about, and happily stopped to answer questions, bring more dressing, recommend which sauce, etc. We're glad we tried this yummy location. Parking might be a problem. We were lucky that the weather was crap, and could park in the alley with no prob. (Giving 4 stars so I can reserve the 5 STAR rating for that one experience I'll never forget. Don't get me wrong. We'll be back. Liked this a lot) See More

Small place, nice staff, good food. Horrible parking, but that's not their fault. If you're going, just plan to walk, ride the bus, or spend about 30 minutes cruising the neighborhood looking for a sp...ace.

Wasn't very busy at all on a nice Saturday afternoon. Great macaroni salad, rice was either a little under-cooked or had dried out from sitting too long.

Best friend and I shared the kalua pig and teriyaki chicken plates - both excellent. The spam masubi is incredible. Their homemade teriyaki sauce in a squeeze bottle on the tables is one of the best I...'ve ever tasted. First time in Portland and first time eating Hawaiian. Definitely recommend See More

As a frequent visitor to Hawaii my whole life I can say that this is almost as good as being there without hopping a plane! Great local fare in a legit kama'aina worthy laid back relaxed and friendly ...environment. Sunshine, surfboard and a fresh plate lunch and a longboard beer to compliment the vibe. Love this place! Check it out! The Kalua pig is FAB! See More

The food is good -- not super light and healthy, but damn good -- and the staff are super nice and friendly. They have great happy hour! The piña colada from the machine has kind of an artificial/tinn...y taste or I'd give them 5 stars. Consider this more like a 4.5. See More

It's okay, atmosphere good, menu is great good assortment of food. My Loco Moco the hamburger was over cooked and hard, the rice was a little hard to. Salad great! Saw no locals cooking, unless the...y local hoales. Would be nice if they was more friendly, more Aloha. See More

The food was NOT good ... Undercooked butter mochi and the poke was a flavorless joke. The Kaula pork was not impresive either and my batch tasted faintly like teriyaki . I've had alot of attempts a...t Hawaiian food ... this was food court at best. Mahalo for trying. See More

Spam masubi and mac-n-cheese we're A+ and the atmosphere is great. The pork was a tad salty, but it was my first visit, so I'll reserve final judgement till my next visit.

Food is good, mac salad is ok... Only problem is there is not enough sitting. Don't get me wrong the staff is friendly and nice. Just sitting is the issue.

Awesome as always. Love how consistently great their food and service are. If only they had big Hawaiian plants to absorb some of the sound.

My family loves this restaurant! The food is fresh, delicious and affordable. You have to try the Spam Masubi and my kids won't leave without a shaved ice!
