A great zoo dedicated to enriching the lives of animals. On a scale of others it has an intimate feeling where you’re able to engage with knowledgeable staff to learn more about animal species. The Au...dubon Zoo is a zoo located in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is part of the Audubon Nature Institute which also manages the Aquarium of the Americas. The zoo covers 58 acres (23 ha) and is home to 2,000 animals. It is located in a section of Audubon Park in Uptown New Orleans, on the Mississippi River side of Magazine Street. The zoo and park are named in honor of artist and naturalist John James Audubon who lived in New Orleans starting in 1821. Check it out the next time you’re local. See More

I’ve had a special love for Audubon Zoo since Spring of 1978 when I saw the Asian Domain under construction. I was 16 years old and that was when I realized that something amazing was happening in Aud...ubon Park. About a year later, Asian Domain was open and the zoo was on its way to becoming the world class facility that it is today. Now that the zoo is being transformed once again to become an even better place than ever, I enjoy seeing the construction sites because construction means progress for the future. See More

We love going to the Audubon Zoo, it’s always a fun time. It’s so nice that they are constantly working on new and exciting exhibits. It’s also nice to see how well the animals are being cared for. ... One thing i love in particular is the educational carts that are parked in random places during certain times where kids can get hands on with some animals. The membership is a great investment. The zoo had many unique features, decorations and sculptures of animals. The “Swamp” was a good representation of wild Louisiana. I would have given it 5 stars but there were no shows the day we went ...and there were lack of close by bathrooms due to construction. Plus, most of the food stands were not open. I am sure it will be 5 stars this summer when it is busier. See More

Stunning experience, the combination of high quality research and professional staff have created an environment that is extraordinarily positive for both humans and animals.
Audubon Zoo lends itself... well to those who want to relax and contemplate the wonder of the animal population and for families to create joyful memories together, very grateful for my membership! See More

Beautiful facility! Love how dedicated Audubon's staff is to caring for and ensuring the well-beings of their animals while simultaneously teaching visitors what they can do to help protect and enhan...ce the lives of animal populations that are threatened or endangered in the wild... I knew zoos were important, but it wasn't until being at Audubon that it really clicked! See More

Went with the grands during their Mardi Gras vacation.. 2,4 1/2,10 1/2years old.they had a great time. We picnicked on the grounds, met with a red tailed hawk, named Jezebel...enjoyed all the animals......sea lions, the giraffe was extra friendly. The tiger, alligators, otters were very entertaining. We were sorry to miss the orangutans...we enjoyed all the exhibits and are looking forward to the newer exhibits next year. See More

I love going to y'all's zoo, I talk my family into going at least once a year but I think y'all should set out water for animals {its getting hotter outside} to drink because it's nothing like watchin...g them drinking each other's pee, really it's kind of sad, plus who can't enjoy that wonderful mating season from big cats to tiny otters yelling about it See More

Kinda expensive if you aren’t a member but I understand it takes money to keep the zoo up to the standards you maintain. The new additions are very nice. Food in the Swamp Cafe is really good it’s “zoo food”. See More

Brought my 7 year old and he had a lot of fun. I want to come back during summer for the water area! We live 8 hours away but spending a day at the zoo is extremely fun!

It was a beautiful day and the animals were pretty interactive by coming up to the glass for us to take pictures, seen the elephants feed and one picked up a tire. Me and my fiancée had a blast!

Should have more Train Stops. I have had tickets several times and it never seems convenient to ride it more than once. It will be better when all the construction is done. Some areas smelled.

A beautiful zoo, with the magnificent ambience provided by the hundred year old oaks. It’s a great experience that I encourage any who have the chance to take.

I really enjoyed it. The only things I didn't like were that the ocelot and sun bear were pacing in circles for the longest time. I feel like they need a variety of stimulating toys. I recommended ...bright balls for the sun bear! See More
